Your Cross Word Puzzle
HOW TO SOLVE THE CROSS WORD PUZZLE
The way to solve the Cross Word Puzzle is to fill in the white squares of the diagram with the words which agree with the accompanying definitions. The definitions are numbered to correspond with the numbers on the diagram.
Any word defined in the text under "HORIZONTAL" will be given at its number, shown on the diagram, and will extend all the way across to the first black space to the right of that number. That is, the word must begin in the square that contains its identifying number, and extend as far as the white squares continue uninterruptedly.
Any word defined under "VERTICAL" will also begin in the white space that contains its number, but will extend downward as far as the white spaces remain uninterruptedly.

GIRLS WANT TO ROLL THEIR OWN
Two hundred and sixty-five Fullerton H. S. girls are said to have signed a petition circulated by the Girls' League directed to the high school trungees asking that the ban against stockings rolled below the knees during the gym period be revoked. The girls say they sincerely fail to see anything immodest, immoral or unladylike in bare games, and they think the school board too nustere to have a ban against it.
The petition says that this does not attract an excessive amount of attention and that the girls have their stockings rolled beneath the knees during other periods.
L. E. Plummer, principal, says that it is not within the power of the school board to dictate the girls' everyday dress, but only during the "gym" period when they are dressed in the regulation "milddy."

SENSATIONAL STORY AT UNITED
Crook melodrama of a high order, spinning along to a sensational climax which leaves the audience tense with emotion and moist-eyed with the spirit of sacrifice. "Midnight Molly," third of the features starring Evelyn Brent, comes to the United Theatre tonight and Tuesday. As in the previous pictures, the star is very capably supported. In this instance, John Dilton, Bruce Gordon, Leon Bary and John Gough shine above others. Lloyd Ingraham directed the picture, and proves particularly well fitted to get the greatest possible effect from a rattling story. The production is well mounted and attests the ability of everyone connected with it.
"Think first of others" is a motto especially popular in connection with laws and taxes.
Another economy affected by Society has many strata, and in the golden age of Pericles there may have been idiotic popular songs.
