CALUMPIT CAMP
VISIT LEGION
A very short business session of Calumpit Camp, Spanish War Veterans, was held Tuesday night owing to the fact that the Camp adjourned at 8:00 p.m. and went in a body to Anaheim, to visit Anaheim Post of the American Legion by special invitation.
Patriotic Instructor R. H. Lee reported on the business of handling the flag etiquette cards. He was forced to solicit a copyright to prevent outsiders from taking up the scheme.
C. W. Hannah, a former resident of Santa Ana and a member of Company L, 7th Calif., Vols. during the Spanish American War, now a resident of Hollywood, and a member of Hollywood Camp No. 83, attended the meeting with a message of good wishes.
Commander of the Camp, Walter W. Tantlinger, was authorized to appoint a mustering committee of five with a Past Commander as the chairman, to take charge of important doings.
An invitation has been received to a meeting of J. Franklin Beir camp on Monday night, April 27, at Eagles hull, San Pedro.

Roosevelts Off on First Leg of Hunting Trip to "Top of the World" in Quest of Rare Ovis P
This photograph was taken as Theodore and Kermit Roosevelt were sailing from New York on board the Leviathan to meet the rest of their hunting party in England. Their goal is Chinese Turkestan, high in the Himalayas, and chief among their quests. is the ovis poli, prototype of the mountain sheep of the world, which Marco Polo first described in the journal of his trip to the Celebrities in the thirteenth century such terms that for centuries was thought to have embroidered the truth. Another object is long-haired tiger that lurks in jungle at the foot of the Tian Shan range. The expedition will observe specimens of bird and animal for the Field Museum of Chicago.
The green things are attractive in spring, and even the sophisticated ones seem more charming.

COLLEEN MOORE IN NEW FILM TRIUMPH
"Sally," in which First National is starring Colleen Moore is coming to the California Theater for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday is a film adaptation of one of the most successful musical comedies ever staged.
It was an original Ziegfeld hit, with Marilyn Miller as its star; For more than 70 weeks "Sally" ran continuously on Broadway; then it took to the road, scoring long runs in Chicago, Boston and Philadelphia, and eventually touring the entire country. It also played one solid year in London.
During its stage life "Sally" is credited with having earned more than $4,000,000 gross receipts for the producers. It was written by Guy Bolton and Jerome Kern, and after First National bought the rights as starring vehicle for Colleen Moore, June Mathis, noted for her adatation of "The Four Horsemen" and "Blood and Sand," was chosen to transform "Sally" into picture form.
