UNITED THEATRE SPLENDID PROGRAM
Life in a world apart is reviewed with dramatic effect in "Crooked Alley," the all star production which will be seen at the United Theatre on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Alley," haven of those who live Alley," havenof those who live without any visible means of support, and those who are always under the watchful eye of the police, San Francisco's underworld is a picture without exaggeration but its type is colorful and interesting. "Crooked Alley" is from the story by Jack Boyle one of the famous BostonBlackie stories. The master criminal with a heart.
Thomas Carrigan plays Boston Blackie with the repression and finesse of a stage player and screen player combined. Laura La Plante, the beautiful young star with such a pleasing personality, has the role of the daughter of a notorious criminal. Others in the east are Joseph Dowling, Owen Southland Sports
