The quick-moving novel, which was translated to the screen, revolves around the sudden introduction of a lovely girl into the woman-less life and home of a confirmed bachelor, who lives on a narrow street far from the frequented part of the city. Simon Haldane, the bachelor, is a character created especially, it would seem, for the humorous eccentricity of Matt Moore. Absent minded and forgetful of social hallitics, he lives his life apart from the frenzy of modern civilization, until one stormy night. "The Flying Howards" are a daredevil pair and perform many tricks on the rings and trapeze. Their act is rightly named in "Aerial Thrills" as they certainly give thrills and sensations galore. "Mills and Trevor" in "Oh, Elmer," have a laugh producing skit interspersed with some very clever dancing and singing. "Musical Moments" by Joe Devlin and Co., kept the house in an uproar. It is an act out of the ordinary and one that you will enjoy every minute of. They have a number of surprises in it, and their rapid fire conversation is all new and original. Bell and Bedel in "A Novelty Surprise," are indeed a surprise. They have a series of well executed tricks of skiffle balancing and wire walking that both thrill and entertain. Taken all in all it is one of the best vaudeville road shows that it has been the pleasure of the management of the California theatre to present to their patrons. Johnnie Hines in his latest thrill comedy "The Speed Spook" is the feature photoplay and it abounds in action, thrills and laughs. It is a story of a small town election and shows the intimitable Johnnie at his best. A very interesting travelogue of a gobs experiences on a cruise with one of the big battleships in the U.S. Navy and an Aesop Fable, complete the program.
