Lenten Sunday Service ANAHEIM WOMAN VOTED HIGHEST OFFICE IN CLUB As usual where Anaheim residents are found in gatherings large or small, the high honors were carried off by them. In this case Mrs. A. E. Fitzmorris was elected president, and Paul S. Neal, secretary and treasurer, of the So. Calif. Colorado Teachers College club organized Saturday evening. There were sounds of revelry by night" at Ketneria Gold Room. Santa Ana, when former faculty members and alumni of Colorado State Teachers' college held a reunion and banquet. The college colors of lavender and gold were used profusely in the scheme of decoration and covers were laid for 76 guests. Mrs. A. E. Fitzmorris of Anaheim very ably acted as toastmistress and representatives of the numerous classes responded in various ways. The oldest class represented was that of 1899. Mrs. Florence Morehouse Berry of Huntington Beach, being the honored representative. Mr. L. R. Kimbley of Huntington Beach responded for the class of 1923, youngest class represented. The after-dinner talks were intermingled with singing old C. T. C. songs. At the close, it was decided to organize a So. Calif. C. T. C. club. Election of officers followed, resulting: Mrs. A. E. Fitzmorris, Anaheim, president; Mrs. Lela Aultman, Hollywood, and H.G. Nelson, Santa Ana, vice presidents; Mr. Paul S. Neal, Anaheim, secretary and treasurer. The C. T. C. delegation by restidence follows: Anaheim—A. E. Fitzmorris and Mrs. Fitzmorris, Paul and S. Neal and Mrs. Neal. Riverside—Emma Buckley Palchild. Venice—Agnes J. Shumate, Mary Shumate Craig. Huntington Park—Amy R. Forte. Hollywood—Alberta K. W. Guile, Lea Pulman. Wang and two conspirators tell Ting Ling who is very romantic that in a previous existence she was Venus and betrothed to Neptune, who is now on his way to claim her as his bride. Neptune will be one of these conspirators who will then drown Ting Ling. But Ting Ling meets Fanchong and believing him to be Neptune falls in love with him, so when Wang presents his man Neptune, Ting Ling refuses to accept him. Hing Lee, a spy of Fanchong's learns of Wang's plot and warns Fanchong. So, with the help of Hing Lee and Ab Me, a cousin of Ting Ling', and in love with Hing Lee, Fanchong and Ting Ling plan to elope. But Hing Lee wins the palace guards to Fanchong's "Crimson Eyebrows" so the gates are opened and Wang is overthrown and the throne restored to the Princess Ting Ling. Miss Heughan told that just as in ancient times a soldier could not long stand on the battlefield without a shield to ward off the darts of the enemy even so it is not possible to long stand on the battlefield of a Christian life without bringing into play the shield of faith to ward off the suggestions, fears and doubts that the enemy of our souls tries to thrust into our minds. But if we have gone down to bedrock in our Christian experience and built upon that solid foundation of the doctrines, and teachings and commandments of Christ the Lord will supply the faith for us to meet the enemy, and if we exercise this faith that He gives us and let it stand steady in Him He'll bring us out more than conquerors.
