PROBE DEATH OF WEALTHY RANCHER (Continued from Page One) ed to have fallen to his death. It was largely on Tipton's testimony that a coroner's jury brought in a verdict of "accidental death." Alleged discrepancies in testimony give at the inquest forms the basis of the present investigation. According to investigators, many points at variance with testimony given them have been uncovered. Surgeons who examined the body after it was exhumed found more than 20 wounds on the young man's head in three distinct rows according to Dist.-Atty. McKay. At the time of his death it was claimed these wounds were inflicted by the gear of the windmill which he was supposed to be repairing. Investigators, however, today claimed it would have been impossible for more than one row of wounds to have been inflicted by a fall on the gear teeth. Photographs taken of the skull will play an important part in the grand jury investigation it was said. Another phase of the original story now being questioned is the fact that Camp's body was supposed to have alighted at the base of the windmill. This structure is 31 feet long. SAND CAVE HAS MILITARY COURT (Continued from Page One) listening to the fatal tappings in the microphone receiver on which the shadow of doubt had been thrown. Up to 11 o'clock, Lane reported, the pulsations came regularly at speed varying from 20 to 26 a minute. Shortly after 11 o'clock, however, Lane said, there was a change. The count gradually slowed down until the beats were coming at the rate of about 14 a minute. Collins was sleeping in his tomb under the hills. The slower movement kept up throughout the night and into the morning regularly, monotonously, telling of a man whose rest was undisturbed. About 10 n.m. today the phones gave out a bustling sound, followed immediately by acceleration of the beats. Morning had come in the blackness of the cave, and Collins was wakening to his eleventh day of imprisonment. From then on, Lane said, the pulsations continued at the increased rate—20 to 26 a minute—varying probably as Collins moved within the narrow confines of his stone-bound prison. While the test was being conducted, the all-important work of sinking the "life or death" shaft continued. This afternoon it reached a depth of 36 feet. CAVE CITY, Ky., Feb. 10. Under executive order of Gov. Wm. J. Fields, public sessions of the military court opened here today to inquire into the circumstances surrounding the attempted rescue of Floyd Collins from Sand Cave, where he has been imprisoned since Friday, Jan. 30. THOT THEY WERE WED THREE YEARS Twunezo Yamamoto, 38, of Anaheim has learned that experience is a dear teacher, for, after securing a license to wed Mayagiku Kayasheyma, 36, three years ago he failed to have the wedding ceremony performed. Instead, both thought that being in possession of impressive-looking papers they were man and wife. Imagine their surprise, Yamamoto revealed at the clerk's office where he was given new license papers, when they were informed by the Japanese consul they were not legally married, so far as U.S. laws are concerned. Mr. and Mrs. Yamamoto had consulted the consul relative to securing passports so they might send the older of their two sons back to Japan for a visit. The consul asked for a copy of their marriage certificate, but this, of course, led to the awakening. Yamamoto, who secured the new license late yesterday, said he was going directly to Judge Charles Kuchel at Anaheim to have the belated ceremony performed. Radio tests were taken recurrently, as much to encouraged those laboring as to determine whether Collins is still alive. These tests, according to experts and physicians, indicate that despite his long imprisonment, Collins may yet be rescued alive. Work on the shaft was pressed with all speed, however, but the cry of those in the pit is: "We want Collins alive." CAVE CITY, Ky., Feb. 10. The daily radio tests today brought back the same murmur of life from the inner recesses of Sand Cave claimed these wounds were inflicted by the gear of the windmill which he was supposed to be repairing. This structure is 21 feet high and experts declare that in a fall the body would have alighted further away from the mill. The presence of bloodstains beneath a bench is also another mysterious angle being probed. Investigators are likewise curious to learn how Camp came hurtling down the top of the mill, escaping hitting a network of electric wires which were fastened to the mill. The story of a prominent physician relating to the early life of Mrs. King, Camp's sister on the farm, is also expected to be called to the attention of the grand jury. She, with Camp, inherited the $100,000 Camp estate. This doctor was quoted as saying he found evidences of mercurial poisoning when called to attend the girl. That a breach in the relations between Camp and his foster parents existed at the time of his death was revealed, according to the authorities, in letters written by Camp to his sweetheart, Miss Theresa Lindauer. According to investigators, Camp had frequent quarrels with the Browns over his growing love for Miss Lindauer who lived on a neighboring ranch. But a few hours before his death, he is reported to have been arranging for a 'honeymoon cottage' in preparation for his expected marriage to Miss Lindauer. Investigators claimed to have information that each visit of Camp to stone-bound prison. While the test was being conducted, the all-important work of sinking the "life or death" shaft continued. This afternoon it had reached a depth of 36 feet. 30. This is a morale building move Since rumors first began to circulate freely as to incidents occurring during the early days of the finding of Floyd's entombment, it has become apparent that some action to allay the suspicions of the public as to the facts in the case was essential. It was with this point in view that the military tribunal while hmight sit in secret sessions as a grand jury does, obtained permission to make its investigations a public hearing. Meantime hope that the salft, the last resort, would reach Collins before his death was visibly shaken today when efforts of find another entry way into the passage where he lies in a rock shroud became frenzied in their intensity. The shaft has been sunk about 35 feet with approximately as much still to be excavated. Workers were discouraged with the maddening slowness. the Lindauer home was followed by a violent quarrel with the Browns. A letter signed "K.K.K." warning the parents of Miss Lindauer to forbid Camp to see their daughter, is in possession of the authorities. Camp had insurance policies which aggregated $130,000 in event of accidental death, and ranches and securities valued at $50,000. ly, as much to encouraged those laboring as to determine whether Collins is still alive. These tests, according to experts and physicians, indicate that despite his long imprisonment, Collins may yet be rescued alive. Work on the shaft was pressed with all speed, however, but the cry of those in the pit is: "We want Collins alive." CAVE CITY, Ky., Feb. 10. The daily radio tests brought back the same murmur of life from the inner recesses of Sand Cave to the head phones at which a physician listened. The beats, said by electrical engineers to be respiration transmitted by the microphones, came at the normal speed of health varying from 20 to 27 a minute. Once Dr. Wm. Hazlett of Chicago said he thought he counted them as high as 32 but this, he said, might be accounted for by other factors along the wire which might give an additional pulsation. This is Collins' eleventh day of imprisonment—eleven days spent in a natural straitjacket with ice water trickling over his body without food, unable to move, and yet it is believed he still lives. It is this apparent miracle that spurred on digging operations, keeps me working until they drop from exhaustion and holds a nation in suspense. CAVE CITY, Ky., Feb. 10. D. W. THOMAS "A TRUE STORY" "This little story is a true story all about little me. Before the angels brought me into this beautiful world, mother was visiting Grandma Thomas, so the angels thought this a good time for little me to come into this wonderful world, and I was born at Grandma's home. Grandma had a player piano and the second day in this new world I heard music. After that Grandma always played me to sleep. Mother too, enjoyed every bit of the music because she was ill at the time; the music cheered Mother and put me to sleep. We were with Grandma until I was one month old and mother and I had music every night when Grandma played for us. Now I am a little girl all years of age, and had my first experience in school this year—January, 1920. I am in the third grade and I dearly love music.
