29 HIT TRAIL LAST NIGHT (Continued from Page One) biggest men of the nation today have had business failures. "One sin makes you a slimmer. There is no difference in God's mind between sins. A match is a small fire. A city makes a big fire. Both are fire. The match may set the city on fire. "Unbelief is a bigger sin than stealing a horse or robbing a bank. It is not the chings a man does that damn him, it is what he is. One sin makes a man a sinner. How many lies does it take to make a harf? How many must you kill to be a murderer? "When you say you would like to be a Christian but you can't you should spell it 'won't.' You can be a Christian if you will. "God has invited everyone to the feast and put on the bottom of the invitation that you will be damned if you don't come. If he asked you to do something that you can't do he would be an unjust tyrant. He is a loving charitable Father. "You say you would like to be a Christian but that you can't be one in Anakehim. If you can't be a Christian here you can't be anywhere else. Sin abounds everywhere. "I believe we are on the eve of a great national revival. "We have doctors for everything but a sick will. "You say: I am just as good as some of you Christians." God pity you if you are not better than some I know. Some of our Christions are hypocrites. A hypocrite is the meanest man in the world. What you really mean to say then is: I am just as good as the meanest man in the world." "You rare back and say there are imperfections in the church. Sure there are and there will be more when you get in. But if you want to know God get into the Thousands Wagered On Diptheria Race NOME, Alaska, Feb. 2. Even in its hour of tragedy, the sporting blood of the north asserted itself today. Thousands of dollars were wagered on the time to be hung up by the nutshing dogs rushing serum from Nesana to diptheria-striken None. Many large sims were bet and in one cigar store heavy odds were offered the dogs would not reach here at noon today. Miss Beatrice Nevins and Henry Clauson of Los Angeles were taken to the Orange-no hospital suffering from injuries they sustained when two automobiles crashed near Orana, late Saturday night, no cording to a report on file at the sheriff's office today, the driver of both cars blaming the other for the collision. Clauson, was riding with George Wilson and Earl F. Ross of Santa Ana. Cuts about his face kept him in the hospital today, though Miss Nevins, who was with George Sullivan of Los Angeles, was able to taken to her home yesterday. Sullivan reported Ross' car up proached him on the wrong side of the road and when he turned to avoid a collision, Ross' car struck his. Both machines were demolished. Ross' report, however declare Clauson's machine was traveling at a high rate of speed and that all times his own-car was on the proper side of the road. where there is no open Bible and no free school. God demands that parents give their child pure blood and pure religion. The right kind of society cannot be built up until so clety gets right with God. American industry is based on business and charity. In "business," commodities are exchanged at profit to the parties to the trade. In charity, those who are needy are given help by those who have a certain amount of money and are generous with them. The bootlegger belongs to neither class. He takes money for his wretched stuff and gives no service in return. The lawyer who defends a bootlegger is not a true American. All citizens should not close their eyes to lawlessness when it occurs. "We have doctors for everything but a sick will." "You say: 'I am just as good as some of you Christians.' God pity you if you are not better than some I know. Some of our Christions are hypocrites. A hypocrite is the meanest man in the world. What you really mean to say then is: 'I am just us good as the meanest man in the world.'" "You rare back and say there are imperfections in the church. Sure there are and there will be more when you get in. But if you want to know God get into the line of duty. I want to die with my fighting clothed on. I've never known an active, hard-working church member who was a doubter." At the afternoon service Sunday, Bulgin spoke on "Blackstone, Bootleggers and Booze." Text: Joel 3:3, "They have sold a girl for wine and a boy for a harlot." They are doing that even in this day wherever booze is sold and drank. It does not kill a troublesome vine, simply to lop off the top shoots. The axe must be applied to the roots. There was a time when the liquor busience against the law against the small violator and let the big game get away. The Spiritualist believes in free love. Children born under such conditions are a menace to safe and sane social conditions and the state. If pure mothers must pass through the pangs of childbirth it behooves the husbands to be sure and true to their marriage vows, in order to build up a strong nation. The home is the unit of civil government. The child learns obedience to law and all that is good in character building in the home. The home must be Godly. Anything that works against the home works against the flag. Blackstone says that civil government is without option between right and wrong. It can grant no license to do wrong. If wrong exists in any community it is because public sentiment permits it and not the law. Blackstone says: "Law is a code of action by the state," "providing what is right and prohibiting what is wrong." The pillars upon which rests the state are "education, morality and religion." No peace and happiness exists American industry is based on business and charity. In "business," commodities are exchanged at profit to the parties to the trade. In charity, those who are needy are given help by those who have a certain amount of means and are generous with them. The bootlegger belongs to neither class. He takes money for his wretched stuff and gives no service ice in return. The lawyer who defends a bootlegger is not a true American. All citizens should not close their eye to lawlessness when it occurs where they can behold it. They should report it to the proper au thorities. Don't be moral cowards what ever the cost. While in Billings, Mont., a loonkeeper demanded of Dr. Bunin to give five reasons why he was fighting his business. It was predicted by the U. S. weather bureau this morning as half a dozen utility departments strove to correct the damage caused by heavy rain and high winds. Nearly one and one-fourth inches of water fell on Seattle in the 24 hours ending at 5 a.m. today, partially flooding low-lying areas and being driven against lighting and phone wires with such force as to cause many short circuits.
