CLASSIFIED RATES 15¢ per line for 2 times, 25¢ per line for 4 times, $1.00 per line per month. No charged ad accepted at less than $200,000 was the statement today of a man who has been intimately connected with the park's development. Many buildings indicated on the plans, but hardly mentioned, as yet in the public prints are still to be put up. These, while including only one structure of size—a dancing pavilion measuring roughly 50 by 75 feet and standing immediately east of the plunge—comprise numerous units of porcelain, arcades, summer houses and shelters, etc., while many miscellaneous improvements incident to the care of the premises must be made. Perhaps the first thing to be done will be to but in an automatic sprinkling system, much of the pipe for which already is on the ground. This improvement is one that will cost comparatively little and is in keeping with the policy of city council to make reasonable expenditures where required in order to cut down cost of upkeep. Considerable other work, such as the seeding of the rest of the unplanted space along Cypress at back of the bleachers, awaits the laying of this pipe. The plan also is to seed the baseball diamond with the object of keeping the dust down, but how soon this will be done is uncertain. There is no demand for the work until next summer. The dust of all unplanted ground sweeps into the plunge and also settles on shrubbery, spoiling the appearance of the park. West Coast Lease WEST COAST LEASE, (Spl.) The Rev. W. C. Stone expects to leave about the first of the year to go to Cincinnati, Ohio, where he has been elected editor of the Pilgrim Advocate. His wife and family will remain here for the winter. They will live on the Olinda lease. Mr. C. Stevens formerly of this lease how living at La Habra does with an accident while at work and is now in the Fullerton hospital. Mrs. J. A. Huff and Miss Peggy Flannigan spent two days last week in Los Angeles shopping. Mr. and Mrs. S. Gibson and family spent Thursday afternoon with Mrs. Jones. The Pilgrim Church will hold their Christmas entertainment next Tuesday night. Mrs. F. W. Simons and Tom and Stuart were Long Beach visitors Thursday afternoon. Mrs. E. S. Flannigan and daughter Peggy and Mrs. J. A. Huff were in Fullerton Thursday morning on business. Almer Proger and Howard Turney and Dale Turney from Los Angeles spent Sunday evening at the homes of Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Flannigan. Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Knieley and children were Santa Ana visitors on Saturday. BUENA PARK BUENA PARK, Dec. 22, (Spl.) The members of the Woman's club pleasantly entertained their respective families with a Christ- NEW TODAY FOR SALE—Fat capons, 2 Buff Orphington cockerels, 7 Ligut Brahma pullets, 1233 Peafall st. $22,000 SAVINGS TO LOCAL HOUSES With a cut of three cents a box on shocks, to be officially announced by the California Fruit Growers' Exchange shortly, the two local exchange houses will save around $22,000 this crop year, estimating the season's shipments at 1600 cars of 465 boxes each. This saving of course will be passed along to the growers. The official statement of amount saved has just come out. It is 5 cents per box. The exchange says: The naming of the 1925 billing out prices for shocks on the part of the directors of Fruit Growers' Supply Co. is an important bit of information in which all Exchange growers are interested. The fact that the market for citrus box materials is approximately 3 cents per box less than last year has produced a like reduction in the billing prices paid by the associations affiliated with the California Fruit Growers' Exchange, and who purchase their supplies through the Supply company. The prices named by the directors and which have been announced by circular to the associations, reflect this reduction, and name a net price of 18.18 cents for the box in most common use, which is the all-pine with a rotary cut 4-inch top. The market for the all-pine citrus box varies between 19½ cents and 20 cents. Varying comba- Considerable other work, such as the seeding of the rest of the unplanted space along Cypress at back of the bleachers, swails the laying of this pipe. The plan also is to seed the baseball diamond with the object of keeping the dust down, but how soon this will be done is uncertain. There is no demand for the work until next summer. The dust of all unplanted ground sweeps into the plunge and also settles on shrubbery, apollishing the appearance of the park. Another of the more immediate but not pressing improvements in the laying out of two more tennis courts adjoining and just west of the two existing courts on Cypress street. Still another of the more immediate improvements is the building of a sort of summer house in the picnic ground, adjoining the City Auto Camp on North Palm-st. In order to divert plenieurs from the rest of the park where seating capacity and facilities for looking after refuse have not been provided. The eastern half of the park facing on N. Lemon-st. is regarded more or less as the show portion, for the reason that North Lemon is the only important thoroughfare past the park used by tourists and other out-of-towners. There is no intention to discriminate against owners of property abutting on other streets about the park, however, and the city, while it cannot undo work done long since, will for example move the auto camp away from its site on North Palm to acreage near the northern outskirts. To return to improvement of the picnic grounds, it had been intended to put little shelters or summer house—six or eight of them—in open lawn spaces arranged for picnicing parties, but this plan may be given up. Next to the dancing pavilion, the most important project is the erection of a band stand and grading of ground for an out-door auditorium well-furnished with seats just north and east of the pavilion. The ground will be sloped downward at a slight angle toward the bandstand so that all can hear and see. About the plunge pergolas will be erected, homming it in. on the three open sides, while arcades will surround the auditorium in a similar way. This will be covered with vines, making a strikingly pretty effect. Back of the bleachers will be placed a shelter with some apparatus—a sort of outdoor gym in a modest way. Whether the bleachers will be moved is still undecided. Small summer houses or shelters at other points in the northeastern quarter of the park, a small Chinese temple near the lily pond, extension and bridging of the lily pond and other improvements also are planned. BUENA PARK BUENA PARK, Dec. 22. (Spl.) The members of the Woman's club pleasantly entertained their respective families with a Christmas party at the club house Thursday evening. Mrs. Garrison Costar had charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Ralph Cummins told the children a Christmas story which led u.p. the appearance of Santa Claus at the psychological moment. Santa proved himself to be the well known "jolly old elf" with a bag full of toys which he distributed first to the children, and then to the grown ups. The evening was passed quickly with games and refreshments of pumpkin pie and coffee, candy etc. Mr. and Mrs. John Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. James Watson and Mrs. Mae Faegan attended the Christmas party given by the Liberty Court of Amaranth at Anaheim Wednesday evening. Mrs. D. W. Hasson of the library board and Miss Anna Luebkeman, librarian, went to Fullerton Wednesday, and selected more books for the Buena Park district library. Mrs. Geo. Putman of Sunset ave was an Artesia caller Thursday fornoon. Mrs. Rambottom will spend the holidays at Bakegsfield. Mrs. Counts of Stanford visited Mrs. J. F. Pritchard Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Titleton were Los Angeles shoppers Thursday. Mrs. H. E. Warren is serving on the jury at Santa Ana. Mr. and Mrs. G. E. Murch were Los Angeles shoppers Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. S. W. Little, Miss Hedwig Janke, Erwin Janke and Mr. Henry were guests at a party given by Mr. and Mrs. Galbreath, of Pasadena. Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Bixby were Sunday guest of Mr. Johnathan Bixby of Long Beach. They also visited Mrs. Bixby's sister, Mrs Pierce. Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Mrs. John Semeyare was visited Wednesday by her sister, Miss Marle Meyer of Los Angeles. Mrs. Henry Luebkeman of Anaheim visited her mother-in-law, Mrs. Anna Luebkeman Wednesday. Miss Hazel Nay and Mr. Clifford Allee of Yorba Linda were Wednesday evening guests of Mr. Hay and Date Turney from Los Angeles spent Sunday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E.S.Flaannigan. Mr. and Mrs.C.R.Knielley and children were Santa Ana visitors on Saturday. The market for the all-pine citrus box varies between 19% cents and 20 cents. Varying combinations of pine and rotary cut spruce or fir materials, due to latter being available at lesser costs, are still less. In fact boxes may be bad by the associations thru the Fruit Growers' Supply Co., as low as 16.6 cents. The great majority of the Exchange associations continue to use the all-pine box, believing that such a package carries fruit to market more satisfactorily from the points of view of appearance and safety, than do some of the substitute combinations. However, the decision rests with the associations themselves and their Supply Company is in a position to get for them that which they desire. Whether the bleachers will be moved is still undecided. Small summer houses or shelters at other points in the northeastern quarter of the park, a small Chinese temple near the lily pond, extension and bridging of the lily pond and other improvements also are planned.
