RENDITION OF
"NOEL" BY CHOIR
SUNDAY NIGHT
"NOEL," the impressive Christmas cantata written by Henry Wessel, will be sung Sunday evening by the First Christian church choir, under direction of Howard L. Potter. The story is of the birth of Christ and has been made ready for presentation only after persistent rehearsal during the past three months.
A solo, "The New Born King," by Mr. Potter, opens the entertainment, with the cantata following immediately. A Christmas sermon will precede the final anthem by the chord, "Behold, I Bring you Good Tidings."
Cantata numbers include:
Pastorale—Mrs. Ralph Dickinson; chorus, "Wake, Awake"; recitative—Alto—"And In the Sixth Month"—Mrs. Pemberton; Quartette—"Fear Not, Mary"—Dr. Coleman, Mrs. MacFarland, Mr. Pemberton, Mr. Leonard; Tenor solo—"The Holy Ghost Shall Come Upon Thee"—Mr. Kruzenga; Carol—"O'er The Distinct Mountains,"—Choir; Soprano solo—"My Soul Doth Magnify The Lord"—Mrs. MacFarland; Chorus—"Gloria"; recitative—Bass—and Joseph Went Up From Gallice—Mr. Leonard; Alto solo—"Once In Royal David's City"—Mrs. Pemberton; Carol—"O Little Town of Bethlehem,"—Choir; Trio—and There Were Shepherd's—Mrs. MacFarland, Mrs. Pemberton, Mrs. Wilbur; Chorus—and Lo, The Angel of the Lord"; Chorus—"Glory To God"; Trio with Soprano Obligato—"It Came Upon the Midnight Clear"; Trio—the Mrs. Carlton, Mrs. Pemberton, Mr. Kruzenga, Solo—the Mrs. MacFarland, Chorus with Tenor Obligato—"Hark, the Herald Angels Sing"—Dr. Coleman and Choir.

MANY FRIENDS OF BRIDE ELECTIVE GIVE SHOWER
Miss Helen Hollingsworth whose marriage to Mr. Harris Lewis Lee will occur sometime through the holidays, although the young couple guards the secret date well, brought together a large company of friends yesterday day for a shower and a surprise party, the Misses Helen and Edith of Garden Grove, had called in the Follinsgworth home, on Miller-rd, to pass the afternoon and as Miss Helen was at the piano a string of cars drove into the yard and the merry time started.
After greetings and good wishes, the bride elect received a collection of packages containing a complete set of kitchen slurp inn articles and many pieces cut glass for decorative as well as useful purposes. A happy feature of the shower was entire lack duplication, as well as one particular pattern prevailing in the cut glass gifts. Linens also were among the cherished gifts, man being accompanied by catchy lily verses.
A buffet luncheon of sandwiches, cake an decoffee was served late in the day, through the farsightedness of Mrs. H. M. Lucas, who had invitations to charge.
Present were the Mesdames C. Cawthon, M. M. Carpenter, Geo Shear, Stella Dohm, Laura Watson, Helen Hunt, Mildred McWilliams, S. J. Scally, Jack Fuqua, J. L. Preston, Ruby Shoebridge, L. Foutz, E. Cutler, O. P. Buyard, M. C. Case, C. Norland Dora Fels, Cady, Ethel Shear Doris Scally, Sam Winters, Byron Winters, H. W. Lee, and J. A. Hollingsworth.

Annual Club Party
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Smith have the lively Chat En Seau crowd at their home last evening in the annual Christmas party. A big treasure was a decorative symbol of the season, with many flowers of grapes and greens about the rooms.
After a few games, Mrs. Smith distributed letters which were formed into words, designating places where packages could be found, and no first grader word were used, either, so it took some time to figure out the puzzle. But the reward was quite worth the effort and it was lots of fun.
Present were the Messrs and Mesdames Cliff Carle, Clarence Goodson, Harold McFarland, Gu Prescott, Ray Smith and the Misses Erma Davis, Viola Elliott and Mrs. E. Voss Herrington and Mrs. Harriet K. Boyd.
Mrs. Smith served a delicious luncheon for which the hostess of the club are noted, and only with reluctance did the guest bring to a conclusion so happy a Christmas-party.
Cozy Dinner Party
Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Wilson, $1 North Lemon-st., entertained a dinner last evening, with cards for entertainment during evenings. The table was artistically arranged in Christmas motif, with the repast conforming as neatly as possible to the scheme. The eight for whom places were marked included the Messrs' and Mesdames Wm. Galtes, Tom Wilson Dr. Leota P. Anderson, Jack Mohan and the host and hostess.
Dr. Anderson won high score for the laides and Mr. Galtes for the men. Mrs. Hulda Menichin joined the company after dinner and played for Mrs. Wilson, being awarded consolation score.
The remainder of the time was passed with listening-in on the new Atwater-Kent radio, a Christmas present to the hostess.
