GREAT RESULTS FROM NEW GREBE
Probably the greatest stride in the improvement of radio receiving apparatus is credited to the manufacturers of the new Grebe Synchrophase, according to A. Bevillard of 218 So. Los Angeles st., Bevillard, who is one of Orange-co's foremost radio experts, declares that the new Grebe set is achieving marvelous results because of its greater sensitivity and greater selectivity. These improvements have been made by the use of two stages of perfectly balanced tuned radio frequency and by using a new type of fieldless "binocular" coil transformer with which the detector and radio stages are tuned.
In 1909, Alfred H. Grebe started to build radio units and parts. Early in these pioneer years A.H. Grebe & Co. established its leadership by the excellence of its workmanship, and by 1914 the majority of the apparatus used by the amateur bore the Grebe trademark.
Many of the outstanding advances in receiver design, such as the practice of panel mounting and the automatic filament control, had their inception in the Grebe laboratory. The familiar "Tapered Grip" Dial and "Tangent Wheel" Vernier are noteworthy examples of Grebe craftsmanship. The true value of these contributions is reflected in the ease of control and thorough dependability of the Grebe receivers.
