PICTURE PUZZLES FOR CHILDREN
Here's something absolutely original in cross word puzzles for the children.
It wilt appeal to the little ones because the drawing around the puzzle helps them solve it. Other words in the puzzle often carry the general idea of the drawing.
We plan to give you three of these puzzles a week, the puzzle training one day and a duplicate cost with the letters inserted the following day.
DR. PAIGE URGED WAR UPON RATS
A vigorous war on rats and other rodents in Anaheim and other parts of Orange-co. is announced by Dr. George A. Paige, city health officer, to prevent the spread of the bubonic plague into this county.
The county campaign outside the incorporated towns is being conducted under the direction of Dr. W. L. Mitchell, county health officer, and W. W. Chandler, county sanitary inspector, who have called upon the corporated towns and cities to co-operate.
Anaheim has agreed to use a special man for this work, who will visit people and advise them as to the best methods of killing rodents. Dr. Paige said the campaign here would start immediately.
He said that rodents, especially the rat, thrue the medium of the flea spread the bubonic plague germs, and that every precaution will be taken to keep it from spreading from Los Angeles here. He said that what efforts have been made have met with co-operation both from Americans and Mexicans.
William P. Webb, sr., was appointed to take charge of the campaign locally, and will begin the drive on rodents here December 1, Dr. Paige said.

Exactly what is meant by PERFECT PROTECTION
In the course of the average man's life, two or more of the following contingencies are sure to occur:
1. Accident
2. Sickness
3. Financial adversity
4. Death
5. Poverty in old age
Unless your insurance policy provides against all of these things, you are little better off than if you had no insurance at all.
A Perfect Protection Policy in West Coast Life provides protection against all of these—and does it in one policy. It is the best insurance value you can buy.
