BIRTH CONTROL FINDS CHAMPIONS
LONDON, Nov. 13.—Champions and foes or birth control flocked today to both camps in the controversy revived by the declaration in favor of fewer births by Lord Dawson of Penn, physician to the king.
Advocates of birth control announced this afternoon that they would send a deputation to New Life Chamberlain, minister of health, asking the government physician to disseminate information on contraception.
International News Service was told by Dr. Elizabeth Sloan Chesser, one of the proponents of this move that similar proposals had been made to Minister of Health Wheatly in the recent Laborite Cabinet, but that he had evaded the issue.
"We believe," said Dr. Chessor "doctors should make birth control information available to poor people at maternal welfare centers."
"A doctor should be free to judge for himself when it is advisable to give out such information."
Correct this sentence: "I'll never bob it," said she; "if every other woman in the world does."
ASKS FARMERS TO GIVE SUNDAY-LAID EGGS TO CHURCH
The Rev. Henry Melton, minister who originated the "Lord's Acre" plan in the Georgia cotton belt, has a new plan for raising funds for church work. It is for farmers to give all eggs laid on Sunday to the church to be sold.
DECISION REOPENS LIQUOR QUESTION
WASHINGTON, Nov. 13.—The whole controversial question what is and what is not intoxicating liquor has been opened up again by the ruling of Judy Soper in the Hill case at Baldwin more that home brew does not necessarily have to be checked at the one-half of one per cent stage.
This was the reaction of prohibition officials here today to the decision.
Stripped of its legal verbiage and technicalities, Judge Soper decision was that home brew could exceed the one-half of one per cent alcoholic volume, provided that it is "not in fact intoxicating."
The fees of prohibition were quick to point out today that there is no accepted definition or intoxicating liquor. What intoxicating for one man might leave another man cold.
Ultimately it is expected that whole matters will go against the U.S. supreme court.
Under the present law congress has fixed the legal holie content of liquor, hooting home brew or what-not at one half of one per cent. More than that, as the law stands, is intoxicating.
However, Judge Soper's ruling is to the general effect that congress did not mean what said in fixing the one-half one per cent limit, as applied home brews. Those who bring their own can, under his rule allow nature to take its course their cellars, up to the point "intoxicating in fact."
What, then, is "intoxicating"?

"COMMON SENSE OF BRITISH VOTERS DEFEATED LABOR PARTY," SAYS EDITOR
"The danger which confronts America is the danger which confronted Great Britain," said Ge Roberts, editor of the Nottingham (England) Journal, and famous poet, author, lecturer, humor and war correspondent, in a recent address.
The British journalist was eliciting the overwhelming defection of the Labor party in England and its bearing upon politics in England and its bearing upon politics in the world over. The meat of his analysis was that the Labor party overthrow demonstrates that politics and economics are indisoluble and that idealism must travel side by side with materialism for "the basis of humanity; an industrial basis."
"Thinking our idealism was gentle to the spirit of the age he said, "we in England forge that our materialism must brought up to the same level that we wished to proclaim for him manly."
Politicians Same Everywhere
"An analysis of human nature has continued, whether it be Timbuetoo, Chicago, London Paris or Rome, will produce or act like the same types in whatever phases of life you investigate. We shall discover that politicians world over appeal to the same interests employ the same methods suffer the same defeats, and claim that they have the same monopoly of virtue."
"You are going to have America," continued Mr. Roberts.
"I venture to prophesy this—you have not got it now but it is coming—a new phase to your public existence, a phase in which mental and intellectual is sifting to battle with the purely physical and the purely industrial That is a conflict. God help that nation that has to face it. But it can resolve itself into harm whereby industrial efficiency coupled with a spiritual outlook."
