CLAIM HUNDREDS LEPERS AT LARGE WASHINGTON, Nov. 7.—Between 500 and 1000 lepers are abroad in communities throughout the United States, according to an estimate made by the Public Health Service recently. Except the dread disease be in its most acute stage, the average person infected will never recognize he is a victim, the announcement declared, and discovery is only brought about in the majority of cases through an infected person applying for medical treatment for other ailments or diseases. Persons who have contracted leprosy have been known to live in communities for years before being recognized as such. Few people other than physicians ever see a case of leprosy. The only dangerous night air is that confined in overheated bedrooms. POT LUCK DINNER AT B.P. FARM CENTER Buena Park will have a pot-luck dinner at 8 o'clock preceding the regular meeting next Monday night, Nov. 10. The program is a very interesting one with Herbert H. Cox of the Los Angeles public service department, showing two motion pictures of importance. The first is "The Giant of the Hill," a two-reel showing of the Owens river along the acqueduct from its origin to Los Angeles. The reservoir, distributing system, etc., will be brought out very plainly. The other is named "Taming the Giant of the Southwest," and shows the harnessing of the Colorado river and development of the Pal Verde valley. The pictures are most educational and will be shown at the Cypress Farm Center on Friday night. Mr. S. T. Seem and sons, Clyde and Vern, who are making their home with Mrs. E. L. Rust on South Madrona-ave, were Santa Ana visitors Monday morning.
