REAL ESTATE and Rentals NGAL NOTICE ORDINANCE NUMBER 460 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING PARADIGM OF SECTION EIGHT AND SECTION FOURTEEN OF ORDINANCE NUMBER 463 OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE PURCHISING THE MANUFACTURE, SALE, PURCHASE, STORAGE, GIFT AND TRANSPORTATION OF INTOXICATED LIQUIDS FOR BEVERAGE PURCHISING WITH THE CERTAIN EXCEPTIONS, RELATIVES TO SACCIAMENTAL, MEDICINAAL, AND HOME USE, WITHIN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM, AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION THEREON." PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF SAID CITY ON THE 11TH DAY OF JUNE, 1924 THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM DOUBLE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1 That Paragraph "1" of the Binding Ordinance Number 867 of the City of Anaheim, entitled "An Ordinance PURCHISING THE MANUFACTURE, SALE, PURCHASE, STORAGE, GIFT AND TRANSPORTATION OF INTOXICATED LIQUIDS FOR BEVERAGE PURCHISING WITH THE CERTAIN EXCEPTIONS, RELATIVES TO SACCIAMENTAL, MEDICINAAL, AND HOME USE, WITHIN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM, AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION THEREON." PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF SAID CITY ON THE 11TH DAY OF JUNE, 1924 PLACENTIA PLACENTIA, Oct. 25. The Better Citizenship Committee that is going after a 100 per cent vote in Placentia to win the Silver Better Citizenship Cup for the best record in California, has its work cut out ahead of it. James Tuffree, chairman, will be away on a trip at this time and C. C. Wagner has taken the position as chairman. Mr. Wagner will be back from a ten day trip to Camp Wusha on the 25th, and a mass meeting will be called at the C. C. rooms of all committee members for the evening of Tuesday, October 28th, while a general meeting will be called at the Valencia Theater October 30th where good speakers will be on hand and a short movie comedy given. In order to win this cup Placentia must show the biggest percentage of increase of voters of any election district in the entire state since 1922. In that year there were registered 729 voters in No. 1, 2 and 3 precincts of Placentia and only 489 voted, a miserable showing for an Ideal American Community that is proud of its country and its sacred rights. This is only a sixty-seven and one-half per cent vote. There are 807 registered eligible voters in 1924 an increase of seventy-eight voters. To turn out a ninety-five percent which will be necessary to win this cup, we must have over 750 votes cast. That means work. It seems like a long time until election but Chairman Wagner wants everyone to talk election, think election and make it a point to harp on November 4th until we do get out and vote. Mrs. L. V. Steen is at home again after undergoing an operation for appendicitis about two weeks. NEW TODAY FOR SALE—Small plaza. Phone 762R4. The Better Mother's Club held a spelling match at the home of Mrs. M. M. Sanford on the 16th and a very jolly time was had by the thirty members present. Mrs. A. B. Rogers assisted the hostess in serving delicious pumpkin pie, with whipped cream and coffee to the school children who were there and the teacher, Mrs. J. L. Orr. The free clinic held by the Better Mother's Club is to be discontinued unless the mothers will patronize the clinic. The day and hour have been changed from Wednesday morning to Monday afternoon from 8 to 4 p.m. The club feels that it is offering services which should be appreciated by mothers at least enough that they attend, and are giving the clinic another chance to be continued. Mr. and Mrs. John C. Tuffree have gone on a two months trip to the east. They expect to visit Lansing, Michigan, Ohio, New York, Washington and the South.
