$40,000 LOSS IN COAL DOCK FIRE
ESCANADA, Mich., Oct. 24 — Firemen from Escanada and neighboring towns were still battling today with fire which broke out last night in the Reise Coal Co. dock causing loss of one life and of property estimated by police at $5,000,000.
W. G. Horne, of Birmingham, Ala., who secured a marriage, license without the formality of obtaining the young lady's consent, was arrested and jailed when he tried to force her to enter an automobile and elope with him.

Col E. H. R. Green, multimillionaire son of the late Hetty Green and radio Inst., has succeeded in transmitting motion pictures 50 feet by wireless. Two experts from Boston "Tech" have been detailed to assist him in perfecting the wonderful invention to cover greater distances and it is predicted that moving pictures will ultimately be broadcast as music is broadcast now.
