The gorgeous "Pageant Historical" of the Orange County Armistice Day program at Huntington Beach on Nov. 11, with more than 200 floats in line, will not be the only worth while entertainment feature of the day's program. The Armistice Day celebration this year will present at Huntington Beach the most extensive musical entertainment ever held in Southern California. Will H. Gallienne, chairman of the music committee, will engage at least ten bands for the occasion. All are noted musical organizations, and some are famous beyond the borders of the state. Among the bands already engaged are the following: Los Angeles Pipers band, wearing their striking Scotch uniforms. This is one of the most famous Scotch bands in the world and consists of eight pipers and four drummers. Besides providing music in the "pageant historical," the band will assist in the band concert at the beach in the afternoon and at night and in playing for the street dance which is to be a feature of the Armistice Day program. The Santa Ana Rotary Boya' band is signed for the parade. The famous Pacific Electric band of Los Angeles is signed up. Also the Fullerton band, Santa Ana band and Fullerton high school band. The United States Naval Reserve band with 75 pieces will be here. This band is one of the finest in the world. The Los Angeles Boy Scouts famous band will be here and the Los Angeles Shriner' band, an organization that has played with great success over the United States. BLAKELEY The Sunday morning sermon at the Undenominational Church of the Lord was preached by Miss Eleanor Heughan, assistant pastor, from I John 3:7: "Little children, let no man deceive you; he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as He is righteous." Miss Heughan brot out that to do righteousness, the righteousness that is counted to saints (Rev. 19:8), not half-righteousness, one must have been converted, sanctified and baptized with the Holy Ghost and be led of the Spirit. He must be righteous even as He is righteous. "Some will tell you this not for this life, that you get that on your death-bed, that you are made righteous when you die. If someone were to tell me that face to face I'd ask them: 'Where is your Scripture to prove it?' The Word of God says that we are as He is not when we get up to heaven but right down here in this world (I John 4:17). I'm glad that I can believe that Word, that there is cleansing and keeping power in the blood of Christ, that the Holy Ghost has demonstrated it in my own life. "Jesus Christ is our example, 'Who did not sin, neither was guile found in His mouth.' As He walked with God in his mouth, lived a life of constant obedience, so must we—our affections and lusts nailed to the cross, ourselves crucified with Christ and our wills merged with His, our hearts purified from all sin by faith (Gal. 5:24; Acts 15:8-9)." She urged her hearers to more diligence in seeking the will of God in every move of their lives and cautioned them to throw aside every questionable thing that might grieve the Lord and bring condemnation to their souls. The evening sermon was preach- RICH BUT UNHAIR LEAVES FAMILY CLERK IN GROC "I'll never go back, no what happens," avows B. A. The Los Angeles Boy Scouts famous band will be here and the Los Angeles Shrine' band, an organization that has played with great success over the United States. Chairman Gallienne is also negotiating with several other bands which he expects to engage for the Armistice Day music program. Among these are Roberts Golden State band of Hollywood. This band carries $10,000 worth of musical instruments, said to be one of the finest equipped bands in the world. The Huntington Beach Municipal band with 30 pieces and carrying its state championship banner will lead the Armistice Day parade and will assist in the musical program at the elaborate concert of bands in the afternoon at the beach pavilion and at night, and will also assist in providing music for the street dance t obe held at night. Those who enjoy unusually fine music and a variety of music can not afford to miss the Armistice Day program, every feature of which is absolutely free to the public. It is estimated that 40,000 people will attend. MANY CONDOLENCES LOS ANGELES, Oct. 21.—Telegrams of condolence from every section of the United States were received at the offices of the C. of C. here today sympathizing in the death of Frank Wiggins, dean of C. of C. secretaries throughout the world. Wiggins died early Saturday aboard the steamer while en route to this city. Mrs. R. P. Glazler of Beggs, Okla., on her 53rd birthday drove an automobile 207 miles, which is believed to be a record for a woman of her age.
