Last Call For Seats Anaheim Night At Hollywood Theatre
DUCK SHOOTING OPENS TOMORROW
By EDWIN L. HEDDERLY
Enthusiasm of Big Bear valley duck-hunters now can join the thermometer in going after the attitude record, just like the shot-seared aprils will be soaring skyward bright and early Wednesday morning when the bombardment peaks loose beneath them on groundwild.
There are still a few choice seats left for "The Thief of Bagdad", and for the accommodation of those who intend to go and have not yet purchased their tickets they may obtain them by calling at the Heying Pharmacy. Do not wait until the last minute however, as the number allotted to Anaheim is going rapidly.

DUCK SHOOTING OPENS TOMORROW
BY EDWIN L. HEDDERLY
Enthusiasm of Big Bear valley duck-hunters now can join the thermometer in going after the attitude record, just like the shot-scared aprils will be soaring skyward bright and early Wednesday morning when the bombardment breaks loose beneath them on "Baldwin" and Big Lake."
Rumors that fire-prevention regulations of the Forest Service would prohibit sport by preventing discharge of firearms became confused in the popular mind with certain county ordinances relating to the same matter. Such confusion was spread and enlarged upon by parties whose objectives may have been selfish desire to monopolize the first day's duck shooting before the law-abiding majority of the public learned the facts.
Wherefore, the sportsmen's Fish and Game Commission is pleased to pass on the explanation whereby the Forest Service clears the situation. Non, of the authorities interested, fear that either lake will be set on fire; but the present dry heat enormously increases the forest hazard. No smoking will be permitted anywhere on government land excepting at designated camping sites. No shooting of firearm back from the shores of the lakes will be allowed on government land. Private landowners are asked to comply also with these restrictions for the common good, since a bad fire is seldom careful at where it starts or whose ordinary it jumps.
unless everybody constitutes itself a "committee of one" to watch, first his own conduct, and second, that of all he comes in contact with, there is likely to be a flare-up of bad fires this week which will put a quieten upon a sport which the Fish and Game Commission has gone to extraordinary pains toward fostering and developing; special laws are on the statute books to permit any duck-shooting in Big Bear valley at all; it is a game refuge where no other hunting is allowed. Its continued existence as a paradise for the non-millionaire class of sportsmen may be said to hang in the balance this season, dependent upon much closer compliance with all restrictive laws than heretofore, which is one reason for the strong stand taken in behalf of strict game-law observance, as stated upon the cloth posters which hunters will find everywhere confronting them over signature of the Baldwin Lake C. of C. and approved by the State Fish and Game Commission, which asks the hearty co-operation of every true sportsman in helping it to enforce the laws upon which rests loose beneath them on "Baldwin" and Big Lake."
There are still a few choice seats left for "The Thief of Bagdad"; and for the accommodation of those who intend to go and have not yet purchased their tickets they may obtain them by calling at the Heying Pharmacy. Do not wait until the last minute however, as the number allotted to Anaheim is going rapidly.
Just 200 choice seats in the center of the big theatre were reserved for the people of this city for the Thursday showing, which has been designated "Anaheim Night," and it is expected that the full quota will be sold out.
Officials of the Motor Transit Co. announce that all arrangements are complete for special Busses leaving Anaheim at 5:30 p.m., that will take the Anaheim excursionists direct to the door of Grauman's Egyptian Theatre. There will be a seat provided for each person holding a ticket, and the busses will bring you home again after the show.
If you have not witnessed this production you will not have an opportunity again, for the simple reason that the Sid Grauman presentation, with its elaborate "City of Dreams" prologue, will never be given in any other theatre. If you intend to join the big crowd from Anaheim Thursday evening, Oct. 2nd, secure your reservations and transportation as soon as you read this article. No more theatre tickets will be sold after Wednesday evening.
Parties desiring to make the trip must catch the busses at the Motor Transit station in Anaheim at 5:30 p.m.. No other passengers except those from Anaheim will be permitted to ride on the special. Call at Heyins's Pharmacy before Wednesday evening if you decide to take advantage of this trip.
