SALVATION ARMY DRIVE TOMORROW The Salvation Army Home Service Campaign will start Thursday morning, sponsored by the funcheon clubs of Anaheim, to raise $2,000 for the maintenance and extension of the relief and humanitarian work being conducted by The Salvation Army in Orange-co. Harry F. Dierker, is chairman for the citizens committee conducting the campaign in the southwest section, Wm. Wallop, chairman for the Klwansis committee conducting the campaign in the northwest section; J. Bower, chairman for the Lions committee conducting the campaign in the southeast section of Anaheim. They urge that when the committeemen call for your donation you give as liberally as possible as you will not be expected to give again this year. The many activities now being conducted by the Salvation Army make it necessary for the raising of considerable money in Orange-co. The Redondo Beach Camp received just double the number of children this year than it did last and Orange-co has always had a large number of children at this camp. A bungalow tent with hot and cold running water is provided for each family at the dining tent the children eat three times a day and each child is given a quart of grade A milk, so that the under-fed and under-nourished children put on from six to eight pounds of flesh. The kiddies are provided with bathing suits and transportation is provided to and from their homes. Remember, this organization is past the experimental stage, so that everyone donating to the Salvation Army is guaranteed that the money will be expended in the wisest way and put where it will do the most good. The Salvation Army has always rendered the WOMAN CANDIDATE FOR CONGRESS IS DIRT FARMERETTE Mrs. Huldah Ogden of Milford, Ky., claims to be the first "dirt farmerette" to seek nomination for congress. She is a Republican. All work being given is under the very latest and best methods of supervision, which, with equipment that is modern and new, makes study a pleasure. "To the people of Annheim are being presented three distinctive features. First, a new enterprise to help make this community more prosperous; second, a good, clean school, backed by the highest of moral standards, to inspire students to noble citizenship; and third, a thorough business education, through competent instruction, to prepare students for a bigger, brighter and more successful future." PLACENTIA SENDS FLOWERS TO FLIERS Placentia C. of C. again came to the front to represent the county. The last time it was by broadcasting to the world over the radio at Los Angeles the charms and industrial advantages of Orange-co. This time it was by taking two immense truckloads of flowers of all rare varieties and descriptions to Clover field. Y. track, was credited by friends at the time of his death as leaving property valued at $250,000. The estate consists of Los Angeles real estate, two racing cars, a pleasure car and an airplane. Murphy's closest relatives are three aunts and five uncles. RICO-PASQUERA NUPTIALS Emanuel Pasquera, 31, and Miss Mercedes Rico, 19, both of Anaheim, were married this morning at 7 o'clock by Rev. Patrick Browne, pastor of the local Catholic church, the ceremony being performed in the presence of a small company of friends. Alexandro Daniels was "best man" and Miss Marguerite Celaya "bride's maid." The young couple plan to make their home in Anaheim.
