FORD SPEEDSTERS RACE LABOR DAY A special race for Ford Speedsters will be one of the features of the Labor Day racing program to be staged by the Orange-co Racing Ass'n, at their new track near the corner of Edinger-st and Greenville-rd in Santa Ana. The motorcycle races scheduled to take place will not be held. The Speedster race will be open for all comers and it is expected that a large number of entries will be made from Orange-co towns. Special service will be put on by the Crown Stage lines from all points, of the county, it was announced today by Manager Frank Stansfield. Special rates have been secured from the Crown Stage Co. Over $1000 will be given in cash prizes, referees, timers and all committees are today being completed to care for the various events of the day. An effort is being made to secure the sanction of the A. A. A. for the race. Should the committee sanction the race, it is probable that some nationally known drivers will contend. Work on the track is nearly completed. Water was put on the oval for the first time Saturday, after which several fast laps were turned by J. J. Garrison, George Martin of Santa Ana, Buck Jones of Huntington Beach may race with J. J. Garrison in a special match race. Provisions are being made to make the track dustless Labor Day. Jess Goodman has been chosen as referee. Bob Hockaday of Hockaday and Harlow, and C. Carlton, foreman of the Pashley Motor Co., have been selected as the mechanical committee. Roy J. Lyon, Miller and general tire agent in Santa Ana, will be in charge of the tire changes at the Milk attended the last race. SUES DENTIST WHO RECLAIMED TEETH REDWOOD CITY, Aug. 26—The courts of San Mateo-co must rule on whether it is "foreible entry" for a dentist to open the mouth of an erstwhile patient and remove therefrom false teeth which he has created. Mrs. Josephine Mirata seeks $20,000 damages from Dr. C. M. Decker, South San Francisco dentist, who, she alleges, pried open her mouth and removed a set of false teeth. The doctor's attorneys counter with the claim that Mrs. Mirata had failed to pay for the molars and that the dentist was entitled to his property. WILSON & CO. TO FIGHT RECEIVER CHICAGO, Aug. 26—Petition for a general receiver for Wilson & Co., including all the company's subsidiaries, was filed in New York today by the John Elmer Co. of Chicago, a cooperage firm, recording to announcement at the Chicago headquarters of the company. The petition for a general receivership states that Wilson & Co. saw the cooperage firm $5,-942.41, it was stated. IDENTIFY SUICIDE AS RICHARD PEETE LOS ANGELES, Aug. 26.—Positive identification of Richard C. Peete, former husband of Mrs. Louise Peete, serving a life sentence at San Quentin prison for the murder of Jacob C. Denton, as the man who committed suicide in a hotel room at Tuscon, was announced today by Police Chief Ford of Tucson. Ford said descriptions of Peete sent from Los Angeles tailled with that of the suicide and identification was completed by a disabled war veteran at a Tucson hospital who knew Peete in Denver before the Denton murder. Thousands were driven from their homes when an all-day rain flooded the Honjo and Kanda districts of Tokio and put the tramcar and electric lighting systems out of commission throughout the city. Many homes in the Honjo and Kanda districts which were wiped out by the earthquake a year ago were of temporary films construction and were carried away by the flood. The rainfall was continuing at 11 p.m. without sign of cessation. The heavy downpour was regarded by many as an answer to the prayers of 30 women who last week went to a mountain top in the interior to fast and pray for rain. Y. W. C. A.
