TEXAS NOMINATES WOMAN GOVERNOR
FORT WORTH, Tex., Aug. 25.
Conceded the Democratic nomination for Governor when her majority over Judge Felix D. Robertson, klan candidate, had reached nearly 80,000 votes. Mrs. Miriam (Ma) Ferguson was today assured of her opportunity to "indicate" the Ferguson stigma of impeachment.
Robertson's message conceding the nomination was terse and in the usual form.
"I sincerely congratulate you on your victory," it read.
Late figures released by the Texas election bureau representing 230 out of 252 counties with 67 complete gave the woman candidate an actual majority of 78.552 votes.
The totals were: Ferguson, 403,060; Robertson, 324,297.
A late rally in the lieutenant governor's race sent Barry Miller immediately ahead of his opponent, W. C. Edwards, endorsed by the klan.
The klan has apparently met defeat in every department of the state ticket losing almost 2 to 1 for the comptroller nomination with the same situation existing in the contest for railroad commissioner and chief justice of the supreme court.
Tabulation today was confined principally to the competing of the unfinished counties. The statisticians compiling the returns declared Mrs. Ferguson's final majority would reach 91,000 with a total record vote of over 800,000.

FALLING PRICES FEATURE STOCKS
NEW YORK, Aug. 25—Falling prices were the order of the day in all the principal markets today as well as in important commodity markets. The sharp break in prices of speculative stocks was attributed mostly to the effects of professional traders opening a broadside against the high priced industrials and against certain stocks which have been sponsored by bullish pools and in which distribution on a large scale has already taken place.
Cotton prices rumbled precipitately at the opening of the cotton market today and the losses extended to nearly $7.50 a bale as liquidation of contracts proceed on a large scale.
The market was thrown off its base by the government's report.
Wheat broke $e a bushel and corn, after declining $e a bushel recovered part of its loss. Bonds made good resistance to selling pressure. Sugar markets were strong but gasoline suffered another decline of one cent a gallon as the price war among large refiners, including the Standard Oils, Texas Co., Gulf Refining and Sinclair continued.
Weakness in the stock market was apparent at this opening and few rallying tendencies were in evidence throughout the session. Colorado Fuel and Iron was battered down to 35½ today for a further loss of ½ points as pool support was withdrawn and reports were circulated that water had been encountered in the wells on the property where it was hoped to find oil.
Considering the confusion in other sections of the speculative market, the standard market lead...

BOARD EXTENDS CALL TO MYERS
At a meeting of the board of officers of the Frat Christian church of Anaheim Sunday, the 24th of August, the board extended a call to the pastor, Leon L. Meyers, to continue indefinitely as the minister on condition that the work continue in the future as it has it the past. The board is deeply appreciative of the successful efforts in bringing to a complete success their splendid edifice of worship at Broadway and Helena-at as well as a stale successful work in helping to make Anaheim a clean city in which to live.
The board deplores the efforts of the Bulletin-Herald to spread the impression that it is the purpose of the church to sever connections with its pastor after the dedication of this church is over because of the utter fatality of such assertions—J. A. BAKER, president of board.

McCOY ATTORNEYS HIT INDICTMENTS
LOS ANGELES, Aug. 25.—Attorneys for "Kid" McCoy today blocked taking of the former pugilist's plea of indictments charging him with murdering his sweetheart, Mrs. Teresa Mors, shooting three other persons and robbing four others.
The lawyers protested that the name of Mrs. Jennie Thomas, McCoy's sister, had not been included in the list of witnesses before the grand jury returning the indictments and asked the alleged faulty indictments be set aside.
McCoy's arraignment was then continued until Thursday, when the question raised by his lawyers will be ruled upon.
