Director Beaudine has very ably handled this present-day theme and some very interesting sidelights are shown. Monte Blue and Marie Prevost are co-starred.
"Daughters of Pleasure" tells the story of a family of "nouveau riches." Unbalanced by their sudden affluence the family outstrips the "idle rich" in pleasure seeking. The daughter, forbidden to continue her friendship with Kent Merrill, learns that her father is carrying on a flirtation with a young French girl. With the mocking words, "Like father like daughter," Marjorie sets out with Merrill for his country place. True love, however, redeems passion, and Kent and Marjorie, after a thrilling dash for freedom, assume the bonds of matrimony.
Tonight, Monday night, is Concordia club night, and the Concordia male chorus has a great treat in store for music lovers of Anaheim. The feature picture, "One Law for the Woman," holds interest from start to finish.
