PIGGLY WIGGLY EXTENDS CHAIN Six new stores, making a total of 9 to be opened in 1924, will be introduced to the people of Southern California within the next few months by the Piggy Wiggly company, according to an announcement by President A. C. Jones. A new store opened today in Santa Ana, 35th in the Southern California chain. The Piggy Wiggly system seems to have struck a popular chord. The customer enters, is provided with a basket, and follows a direct passageway through the store, helping himself from the stock all in plain sight. At the end of the passage is a checker, who presents a bill, and a cashier who collects. The system is practically the same as that used in the modern up-to-date cafeteria. At the present time, the Piggy-Wiggly system employs some 300 persons, and has an annual payroll of close to $1,000,000. WINESAP APPLES IN COLD STORAGE 300 BOXES SUBMIT OFFER PHONE MAIN 300 W. E.
