STOCK MARKET STRONG, BUOYANT
NEW YORK, June 11—Save for recurrent periods of profit taking, principally in the late trading, the stock market was strong and buoyant today. Rails were the first to point the way to higher price levels but even the oil stocks exhibited a firmer trend.
Gains of a point or more were recorded in a large number of active railroad stocks, including Missouri Pacific Pfd., Prisco Pfd., Southern Railway, New York Central and Rock Island.
Buying extended to the equipment, steel and oil stocks in larger volume than in any previous session for a week.
Coden oil, which was sold heavily last week, went to 27%, up 3 points from yesterday's low and 3 points from the low of last Saturday.
Gulf States sold in the upward movement of steel stocks, advancing 2½ points to 88%.
Mack Truck featured the motor stocks.
The industrial and mercantile stocks led the upward movement in the stock market in the last hour and new high prices were registered for many stocks in these groups, U.S. Steel added nearly a point at 96%, Marland Oil pushed thru 31 for a new lead of one full point.
The whole market surged forward in an active upward movement near the close, final prices being near the highest price level of the day.
Stock sales 1,005,000 shares; bonds $23,120,000.
GRAIN SURGES HIGHER
CHICAGO, June 11.—The impetus given grains by the bullish government crop report was still in evidence today as all surged to higher levels.
Wheat closed 2½% @ 2½ higher; corn off % @ % and oats
LAGUNA RAISES FLAG SATURDAY
Impressive ceremonies will mark Flag Day, Saturday, at Laguna Beach. All Orange-co people, particularly service men, are invited to participate. A parade will start at 2 p.m. sharp from Third and Forest-ave, proceed south on Forest-ave to Coast-blvd, thence west to Aster-st.
Mr. L. Murphy is grand marshal.
The following organizations will participate: American Legion, Boy Scouts of Orange-co, Santa Ana Lodge 794, B.P.O.E., Community club, Women's club, Junior Community club, school children of Laguna Beach, Knights of Pythias.
The parade will be led by Holders' Boys Band of Long Beach, consisting of 50 pieces.
The flag raising exercises will commence at 2:30 p.m. on the site opposite Tent City, where the cliffs rise.
The program, which will be handled by the Santa Ana Elks' lodge 794, B.P.O.E., will consist of the following:
"Military Escort," Holders' Boys Band of Long Beach; introductory exercises, Santa Ana Elks' lodge 794, B.P.O.E.; raising of the flag, Russell Hinds, Boy Scout, Laguna Beach; prayer, W.I.H. Benton, chaplain, B.P.O.E.; vocal selection, "The Americans Come," Robert Brown; "History of the Flag," Parke S.Roer; altar service, officers of Elks' lodge 794, B.P.O.E.; song; "Auld Lang Syne," cornet solo by Mr. Holder followed by singing of the audience; "Elks' Tribute to the Flag," S.M. Reinhaus; "Young America's Message," by school children of Laguna Beach; patriotic address, Capt. N.M. Holderman; song, "America," audience.

SON PLEADS FOR FATHER'S SLAYER
On recommendation of E. W. Ross, son of Gustaf Ross, who was killed near Midway City, or Oil City, the night of June 5 when he was struck by a car driven by Charles King, Jr., aged 17, the youth was granted probation today by Judge F. C. Drumm, sitting in juvenile court.
Ross, who came here from Iowa, told authorities his father was deaf and for this reason asked that the boy held not be prosecuted.
Funeral services were held here today for the elder Ross, aged 62 years.
Information in the hands of the authorities was to the effect that young King was driving his auto without headlights illuminated.

SEEK RETURN OF MUCH MARRIED MAN
Dist. Atty, A. P. Nelson today forwarded to Governor Richardson extradition papers for the return to Santa Ana from Phoenix, Ark., of George L. Gorman, 24, wanted to face a bigamy charge.
If the papers are approved Deputy Sheriff J. L. McFadden will be sent to Phoenix to bring Gorman to Santa Ana.
SMALL BOY HIT BY AUTOMOBILE
Baxter Reger, small son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Reger, 131 East Chapman-ave, Fullerton, was struck by a car driven by E. P. Cooke this morning and knocked down, according to a report at the police station. He was not seriously hurt, suffering a bruise on the hip.
