The bride of today has her choice of lace, frilly underthings or those of the simple, tailored type. The materials are silk or crepe de chine, or some other luxurious stuff that milady adores and adorns. On the left of the illustration is the tailored type of garment—a step-in of malze colored glove silk, trimmed with self-colored net. Another of much the same type is shown on the right, only this time crepe de chine is the material used and it is developed in a fainter shade of yellow. A costume slip to match companies this step-in. In the center the lacy, frilly type of step-in is illustrated. Another maize colored suit trimmed with real valenciennes lace and hand work of embroidery and drawn work. While keeping to the slim line silhouette this little frock manages to present a skirt that is a succession of narrow ruffles, one pleated and the next gathered alternating down to the hemline. It is made navy flat crepe and the collar, and long jabot are of ecru crepe edged with white and red. Trim leather belt and self-tied buttons add smart touches. Smartly becoming is this swagger sleeveless jacquette in minute checks interknitted of yellow worsted and white fibre silk. CLOTHES SUGGESTED FOR THE BRIDE'S TROUSSEAU CLOTHES SUGGESTED FOR THE BRIDE'S TROUSSEAU A very bridely blouse is illused on the left. OF INTEREST TO MILADY Photos of Fashion's Creations, So Dear to the Feminine Heart "HERE COMES THE BRIDE" "HERE COMES THE BRIDE" The traditional bride, of course, wears white satin, tulle or lace veil and orange blossoms. The models on the left and center illustrate this type of bridal array. Both costumes use pearls in abundance, the one on the left showing great ropes of these beads and the one in the center being caught up with pearl ornaments. On the right is a simple white costume that might suit the girl who does not wish to have as elaborate a wedding outfit, or it might be a suggestion for a bridesmaid's frock. It is here fashioned of white canton crepe and trimmed with embroidery. The white hat draped with a filmy scarf gives a very bridey look to the suit. UNUSUAL WAYS OF TRIMMING THE SMART CHAPEAU TAILORED AND FLOWERED HATS BOTH FAVORED TROUSSEAU All three of the lists shown feature an unusual mode of trimming. The one at the top is a poke shape with a crown of straw and a brim of crepe covered buckram and wide satin ribbon. In the center is an off the face shape with sashlike arrangement of embroidered material depending from the left side. The colors are blue and gray. The last of the three is a tailored little hat with an enormous out-standing bow placed in the back. The Bower trimmed hat is always attractive for summer wear but the one built on tailored lines has its place in the wardrobe too. Both types are illustrated. The upper hat is a pale grey chip with a trimming of flowers in soft pastel shades. The lower one of black straw uses a simple, tailored ribbon trim. Both are the cloche shaped. The frock in the centre is of beaded volle, very simply made, with lace collar, cuffs and trimming down the front. Any one of the hats pictured might be chosen to wear with it. At the upper left is a navy blue loosely woven straw with a band of crushed blue chiffon intertwined with varicolored taffeta ribbon. The one at the lower left is smaller but shady nevertheless, and is more on the order of a sports hat. It is fashioned of taffeta with a huge orchid as trimming, and is developed in shades of mauve and orchid. RUTH IS HERO OF "CHILD WONDER" Eugene Kohner. Eugene Kohner, three years old, is called a child wonder in Minneapolis, Minn. He writes short-hand, knows geography well enough to pick out the principal rivers and countries of the western hemispheres on a relief map, and swims and skates like a grown up. His mother began teaching him when he was too years old. However, his greatest hero is Babe Ruth. MILADY'S VACATION CLOTHES MILADY'S VACATION CLOTHES It would seem that all the talk about clothes these days is for the purpose of getting the brides properly married and the sweet girl graduates properly graduated. We insist that the ordinary home or business girl should have some attention because she hopes to have a vacation if not a honeymoon. The coat on the left of the illustration is a hobby one for a trip. It is made of that most useful of materials—twill—with bright colored bandings for trimming. A clever little frock for various occasions is in the center. It is
