Mr. and Mrs. Garrison Costar were host and hostess to the Pals Bridge club and their husbands. It was a "backward party" and the guests appeared in garments worn backward etc. The evening was pleasantly spent with cards. Dick Dano won the gentleman's prize, while Mrs. Donald James was awarded the ladies. When the refreshments were served, the courses were served backward. The guests were: Mr. and Mrs. Carl Snyder, Mr. and Mrs. Donald James, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Nelson, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Hunt, Mr. and Mrs. O. R. Dano, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Thurman, Miss Anna Fisk and Ernest Rennie of Cypress.
Mesara, C. W. Girvin, John Johnson, L. J. Robeson, W. B. Shaw, George McNeil, Fred Van Lonen, E. P. Mann, Gordon Cameron, William Tice and Walter Ledford attended the 6 o'clock dinner followed by initiation exercises at the Santa Ana Masonic lodge Friday evening.
Miss Elizabeth Jones is quite sick. Her sister, Mrs. Stone, of Huntington Beach is with her.
Mrs. John Boyle of Compton visited friends here today.
The welfare committee had their first meeting Thursday evening at the Community hall. Each organization in town is represented. Mrs. Crilly represents the Woman's club; L. J. Robeson, the firemen; J. H. Johnson, the Masons; Mrs. Ralph Cummins, the Eastern Star; Mrs. Fred Baadady, the church; and Mrs. L. J. Robeson, the Parent-Teachers.
Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Girvin were Fullerton and Anaheim shopers Saturday.
Florence Warren, who is staying with her aunt, Mrs. Thomas, at Placentia, during her parents' absence, was home Saturday.
Thomas Warren was home from Pomona college also.
Little Leonard Dooley has improved enough to be brot home from the Anaheim hospital.
Mrs. R. H. Meyer left for Tu-junga, where she expects to stay several months. Her daughter, Mrs. E. W. Taurman, and husband full stay with Mr. Meyer on the ranch during her absence.
Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Spohn moved Saturday into their new home in the Williams additoin.
Mr. and Mrs. Kohta of Los Angeles visited their daughter, Mrs. A. L. Tilton, Sunday. In the evening, Mr. and Mrs. Tilton accompanied them to Los Angeles.
Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Childers visited their daughter, Mrs. J. O. Green, and family at San Bernardino Sunday.
Miss Leona Hilgenfeld, who has been attending Mills college at Oakland, arrived home Monday.

Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Meyer of Orangethorpe were visited by Mr. and Frs. Frank Koss of Santa Ana Thursday evening.
The church was prettily decorated Sunday with pink carnations, white daisies and ferns in honor of Children's Day. The room was crowded and the children rendered a very interesting program.
The Buena Park park who plays in the high school orchestra played. After the children's program the Rev. Frederick Fisher of the Pacific School of Religion at Berkeley gave an interesting address on "America—What is it? Where is it?" Mrs. Marsh of Glendale is visiting Mrs. D. W. Hasson. Mrs. Marsh was a former resident here and has many friends who were glad to see her again.
G. J. Phelps of Compton was a Buena Park visitor Saturday.
The Buena Park grammar school will give a program at the school auditorium next Thursday, May 29, and the graduating exercises Thursday, June 8.
