FIVE APERMEN HOME TOMORROW
EBEL, Anaheim C. of C., announced today the names of those who have volunteered their cars in which to help bring to Orange the 125 members of the California State Press Ass'n, including Governor Friend W. Richardson.
The five Anaheim volunteers are: W. B. Allen, J. E. Schumacher, Nick Theodore, Secretary George W. Reid and Tom Ingram.
The cars are to meet the visitors at 3 a.m., not 9:30 as first announced—at Corona.
Merchants are asked to decorate their show windows and store drums with flags.

Cypress realty owners are still undecided whether to pool their land in a community lease or not, section committees reported at another crowded meeting last night in the schoolhouse. The average so far signed up comprises only a federation of the total sought.
Edwin Logsdon of Long Beach, James Mayberry of Whittier and H. A. Gaddie, driller of the Gaddie well, were the principal speakers. Logadon explained the need of the pool and its benefits, as did Mayberry, and Gaddie answered various questions.
Gaddie said that the U.S. Gov’t Producers’ Lease No. 88 was the one which, with additions, would be used in leasing lands for the pool.
Tomorrow evening another meeting will be held when the committees again will report.
The Gaddie well is scheduled to be brought in, if the oil is there within a short time now. The cement was given three weeks in which to set before being drilled thru.
CHAMBER TO TALK ON OIL LEASING
The Cypress Chamber of Commerce will hold its meeting this evening in the school building with an excellent program arranged. Blocking acreage for oil leasing will be discussed and other important business matters will be taken up. Refreshments are in charge of an energetic committee. Everyone in the community is urged to be present.
WATCHMAN MISSING WHEN SHIP BURNS
CLEVELAND, Ohio, May 20.—One man was believed to have been burned to death when the steamer State of Ohio burned to the water edge at the docks of the Cleveland and Buffalo Transit Co. early today.
John Lee, night watchman, employed for more than 40 years, was missing after the fire.

VERY LIGHT VOTE FOR BOND ISSUE
Only 144 votes out of a total registration of 5535 had been cast at 2:30 o’clock today in the water bond election. A two-thirds vote is required.
The polls are open until 7:00 p.m.
The bond issue amounts to $119,000 and is designed to pay for a fifth well, water pipe and fire hydrants. Paying has been delayed for some time because the pipes had to be laid first and were not yet available.

CLEVELAND, Ohio, May 20. One man was believed to have been burned to death when the steamer State of Ohio burned to the water edge at the docks of the Cleveland and Buffalo Transit Co. early today.
John Lee, night watchman, employed for more than 40 years, was missing after the fire.
The fire, of undetermined origin, broke out shortly before 3 o'clock. It gained rapid headway and drove three other members of the crew from the vessel. Missing Lee, they attempted to reach the gallery, where he was believed to be asleep, but were driven back by a solid sheet of flame.
For a time the flames threatened to spread to the See and Bee, the largest passenger vessel on the Great Lakes, which was tied up at an adjoining pier.
THAW WILL ANSWER ASSAULT CHARGES
PITTSBURGH, Pa. May 20. Harry K. Thaw, freed from asylum confinement after a court battle which raged for years, will voluntarily leave the home of his mother here soon to return to New York to answer charges of assault upon the person of Frederick Gump.
This information was given as authoritative by those having intimate knowledge of the Thaw fortunes, altho the slayer of Stanford White and his aged mother denied themselves to newspaper men today.
TULARE-CO CLOSED
Tulare-co has been declared a "closed quarantine area" and fishing there is absolutely barred, according to advises reaching the Auto Club of So. Calif. from Porterville.

The trial of Dr. J. M. Bulpitt Santa Ana, charged with dising the peace, scheduled for May 25 at 2 p.m., because of death of the mother of the defendant's attorney. Dr. Bulpitt is urged to have speeded in excess 50 miles an hour across interiors, and later to have used profane language to the officer in the presence of women children. It is this last urge he must face at the pres-shearing. He is defended by Auto Club.
ELECTION COSTLY
One dollar for each ballot cast in the cost at the May 6 primary election.
This was shown today by Coun-Auditor W. C. Jerome, who had the total cost was $12,500 and the vote approximated 13%.
He will mail out checks within two days, to pay election officials 500. Printing of ballots, pro-citations and election notices and hair of booths account for the finance.
PAYS $300 LIQUOR FINE
Al Cors, charged with transmitting liquor, entered a plea of guilty thru Luis Rabb and Waldo Kelly in Fullerton police court, and was fined $200. The fine was paid, but Cors, it is said, will appeal the case. He is said to have paid 15 cases of wine in his possession. He claims that it was sacramental purposes.

Botany and Biology classes of Fullerton Junior College left this morning for the high school cabin at Lake Arrowhead. This is the annual excursion for the classes and an extensive research is conducted. The classes are in charge of H. H. Tracy, with 40 in the party.
Pasadena Man Speaks
The regular weekly meeting of Fullerton Kiwanis club was held at noon today. There was a large attendance. The chief feature was an address by James H. McLain of Pasadena on "His Majesty—Man." There was also a short business talk by E. I. Fuller on "How to be Happy Tho Rich."
LOCAL WOMAN'S RELATIVE PASSES
Funeral services for Mr. L. A. Ludwig of Santa Ana will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in Smith & Tuthill's funeral parlor, Santa Ana. Several members of the local W. R. C. are planning to attend the service.
Mr. Ludwig is survived by his wife, Estella Ludwig, who organized and has been a prominent and helpful assistant in the local W. R. C.. Mrs. N. R. Phillip of Anakeim is a sister-in-law. He was a member of the Sons of Wetearns, who will have charge of the funeral.
Mr. Ludwig's death yesterday followed a paralytic attack of several weeks ago.

WHEELER CLEARED
WASHINGTON, May 20.—Defending Senator Wheeler, Democrat of Montana, against the charges that resulted in his indictment by a federal grand jury in Montana, Senator Borah, Rep. of Idaho, this afternoon announced he would ask the senate to endorse the action of a special investigating committee which absolved Wheeler of all wrongdoing. Borah gave a lengthy review of the committee's investigation and repeated his contentions that no charges were proven against Wheeler.
