Officers say they are not thereby usured with his story. District Attorney Asa Keyes announced that he believes Mrs. Wills and Webster first planned dispose of the physician's body the ocean, near Santa Monica, they admit driving out that Letters from the People OPPOSES HARBOR BONDS The Plain Dealer: There has been much said about a bond issue of $1,500,000 for the improvement of Newport harbor, but no open discussion for or against it has arisen. As the newspapers are largely maintained by the taxpayers, I believe they should be free to publish both sides of every issue. Therefore, I wish to submit the following for the consideration of your subscribers: It is true that the aforementioned bond issue has been endorsed by the Orange-co Realty Board, also by the Associated C. of C., but neither of these organizations are representative and do not voice the choice of the majority! The great need of a harbor at Newport at this time has not been supply except the limited spreading being done. This is fine as far as it goes but can never meet the situation. An engineer of Redlands has stated there are no sites for dams in the San Bernardino mountains, where enough water could be imounded to instill. JEWISH PASSOVER. The Jewish Passover, one of the festivals of the Jewish church year begins at sundown tonight. Jews all over the southland will observe the feast with special services. The event lasts for seven days and commemorates the deliverance of the Children of Israel from the Egyptian bondage. Purlough will be granted all Jewish patients at the Sawtelle government hospital for disabled veterans. married with the murder of Dr. Benjamin Baldwin, today retraced the route he and Mrs. Willis took Saturday night in the slain doctor's auto when they hurled a bunk containing his body down canyon side near San Ferande. Officers say they are not thereby useless with his story. District Attorney Asa Keyes announced that he believes Mrs. Willis and Webster first planned dispose of the physician's body at the ocean near Santa Monica, they did drive out that day, but because of heavy traffic on the ocean trout decided to take the body inland. Mrs. Willis who is subject to a dark heart and who has suffered several faintings during the investigation, was today removed more comfortable quarters in the woman's ward at the county jail. She will appear in court today to enter a plea to the urge of murder. Miss Ruth Starkey of Compton visiting Miss Melissa Osborne a few days. Try This For NEURITIS "Neuritis may be localized in a single nerve or may be general, involving a large number of eyes." For quick and lasting relief, pharmacists have for the past months dispensed Joint-Ease, a stainless, penetrating remedy, when rubbed over the affected parts for about one minute, soaks right in so that not a mole is left on the skin. Joint-Ease is for limbering up joints, reducing the swelling causing the pain to disappear, and for this purpose thongs of tubes are sold daily—60s at Heying's Pharmacy and leading druggists everywhere always remember when Joint-Ease gets in joint agony gets out quick.—Adv. To the casual observer the promotion of Newport harbor seems to be an effort of a few men to realize an ideal and of a few others to increase real estate values in the southern end of the county largely at the expense of the taxpayers of the northern end, who will be the least benefited. We do not need a harbor nearly so much as other things vastly more important now. There is much of industries coming to Orange-co, while we are lacking in the three prime essentials, i.e., cheap water, cheap power and the open shop. These are absolutely essential to bring industries of any consequence to this section. What is the water situation? There are some five or six cities with rapidly increasing population, dependent upon a few drilled wells for their entire domestic water supply with the water level gradually lowering and we are taking this as a matter of fact, and doing nothing to augment the supply except the limited spreading being done. This is fine as far as it goes but can never meet the situation. An engineer of Redlands has stated there are no sites for dams in the San Bernardino mountains, where enough water could be impounded to justify the expense. A preliminary survey several years ago by Mr. Olmstead of Los Angeles and several other engineers shows there are adequate sites. The time will soon come if not here now when we will not count the cost but will secure water at whatever cost. The cities of Orange-co could join with those of Riverside and San Bernardino-cos along the Santa Ana river water shed and build a series of dams if necessary in the mountains far above all chance of contamination and use the water for domestic purposes, continue to spread the excess water as at present. Orange-co will have to consider the construction of a storage dam at some lower point for agricultural needs. This situation is inevitable and the sooner we come to a realization the sooner we will take definite action. As to power there is but one source of supply, and judging from the excessive rates ranchers are paying for power to operate pumping plants no industry could stand the expense. Los Angeles declared several years ago they had water for many years and yet they are facing a serious situation today and are asking the taxpayers to vote a bond issue of $34,-000,000 for construction of one dam. The situation facing the Orange-co coastal plain as to a future adequate water supply is critical and is an issue we cannot longer afford to avoid. I believe it to be of prime importance and should come before we vote any more bond issues for an experimental harbor, the need of which is not vital. W. G. MASON, R. F. D. 3, Box 265. This picture is destined to become one of the outstanding productions of cinema, and will open in New York May 29 at $250 per seat. Anaheim is particularly fortunate in getting this remarkable picture. It is from this pen of Raphael Sabatiel, author of Scar-Scarramoe, and is corrected by Frank Lleyd, Milton Silie with a supporting cast of notable screen stars have put there best efforts into the wonderful sea picture of romance, and producers are very anxious that Anaheim showgoing public be the first to pass judgment. With special musical scores, and Southern California's favorite organist, Arch G. Fratz at the Wursterer, this show will perhaps be the best the city has ever seen. And added to the entertainment which includes other pictures and features, the production staff, musicians and everyone, is expected to view "The Sea Hawk" with Anaheim folks. Almost one hundred seats have been reserved for the visitors and their friends.Several thousand dollars are represented in costumes worn in "The Sea Hawk" which are displayed in the lobby of the California and several business houses windows this afternoon and evening. The visiting motion picture folk coming to John Anaheim at the California tonight will enjoy dinner at the Eks club preceding the opening hour.
