L. B. FIELD SLIPS TO 189,000 BBLS. Long Beach production slipped down to a 185,000 barrels this past week, a new low level for the famous old field. About the only completion of any size or importance was the 600 barrel well completed by the Great Angeles Oil Syndicate. The Angeles well went to 4600 feet and got a 24 gravity producer. Two deep wells of interest at Long Beach now is the Pan-American Stone well drilling in the productive area of the field and the Silverado Corporations test well drilling a mile west of the productive area of the field. The Pan-American Stone well has passed the 5400 foot mark and is trying to open a deep sand on the Union Pacific property that will give the Long Beach field a new lease on life. The Silverado Oil Corporation is making a determined effort to extend the western boundary of the field and has gone down below the 5550 mark to see if there is anything there. A couple of small producers was the only excitement Santa Fe Springs could stage this past week. The Standard Oil company furnished the producers, a 75 barrel well at Koontz 6 and a 35 barrel well at Watson No. 1. The Watson well went to 5275 feet while the Koontz producer was completed at 4850. A re-completion of interest at Santa Fe Springs was made by the Union Oil company. Bell sand production is now being sought since the Meyer sand has become almost depleted. The Union re-diluted or rather plugged back Bell sand a 350 barrel well producing 25 gravity oil. The only good thing that could be said about Huntington Beach for the week just closing is the remarkable manner in which the production is holding up and the new work the Standard Oil company is starting. The produc A re-completion of interest at Santa Fe Springs was made by the Union Oil company. Bell sand production is now being sought since the Meyer sand has become almost depleted. The Union red-filed or rather plugged back Bell sand a 350 barrel well producing 25 gravity oil. The only good thing that could be said about Huntington Beach for the week just closing is the remarkable manner in which the production is holding up and the new work the Standard Oil company is starting. The production output for this famous oil field stuck pretty close to 34,000 barrels, and from the steady decline the wells are experiencing the field is expected to hold up quite creditably thruout the present year. That the Standard Oil company still considers production in commercial quantity possible at Huntington Beach might be adjudged by the fact that during the past ten days the Standard has located and started work on no less than five new wells. The old Montebello's field test well on which the hope of a big western extension of the field has been based for months is stuck with a fishing job at 4600 feet. Howeyer, showings from 4500 on seem to warrant the continuation of operations and no effort will be spared to remedy the mechanical difficulties and proceed with the drilling of the well. H. L. Whiston is making a determined and commendable effort to open up a new field in the Montebello district. Repeal of prohibition of spirits in Norway is foreshadowed by a bill introduced in the Parliament. Mary Garden, opera singer has applied for first citizenship papers to the United States. Women are permitted to smoke in Pullman cars on the Great Northern. Don't forget page 3 tomorrow. SANTA FE SANTA FE LEASE, April 17.
