LOCAL B. B. GIRLS LOSE GAME 9 TO 3
A. H. S. girls baseball team was trimmed last night at Orange 9 to 3. The Orange twirler, Cora Frick is a popular whiz. Anaheim girls were not up to par and the best players failed to make a hit. Miss Katherine Cravath, captain, made two runs, one in the fifth and the other in the seventh. The game was seven innings.
Miss Fae Requarth, star catcher, was laid up one inning after being hit in the eye by a ball.
Coach Irene Jacques did not have a substitute catcher and she was forced to keep Miss Mae in the game.
The losing of this game does not mean that the girls have lost the chance to win the county title. If Orange bows to some team, it will have the same standing as Anaheim; Fullerton, the school that had such a swift team last season, does not have the same
WILLS WILL NOT FIGHT DEMPS
By DAVIS J. WALSH (I. N. S. Sports Editor)
NEW YORK, March 7. — A who rules political elbows Governor Smith and is not out national affiliations, state day that the Demsey Wills has at least received a decent thorofurial beyond hope of cavation and that Wills has been made aware of the Squawk as he ought forposes of publicity. Harry Wills knows now that he will never Jack Demsey at any time, where our informant declared. He made his declarations, to a matter of opinion, but as a statement of fact. Thru undergrowth passages known only to the technically informed, the world been passed, this man says, the bars are up against Demsey and Wills from one end of country to the other.
“You may have noted that Wills had little to say about running Demsey in the ring.” Our critical friend said. “Wills knew that such talk is useless has received his tip and has it in good part like a gentle and a sport. That is the reason he is willing to talk turkey the proposition to most Luis F. where a year ago it was Demsey or nobody.
Meantime Demsey neglect reaction Wills when discussing prospective opponents. That all part of the game of co-creating the great game of political campaign. Wills is not to be openly, it is merely a case of understanding that such is not the case’
With a presidential camp impending, it is not good business to bar anyone, even the one of his skin happens to be as sore as the contents average stoves at the same time it would be rather equally dangerous for one person to be
JUDGMENT OF THE STORM
For the "real" sensation, and so many other thrills that only "seeing is believing," one must go to the United theatre tonight or Saturday and witness "Judgment of the Storm," the Palmer Photoplay Corporation's initial screen production.
The whole dramatic climax of this powerful story, written by Mrs. Ethel Styles Middleton, is staged in a terrible blizzard of the sort described. In emphasizing the thrills and realness of the storm, however, one must not overlook the fact that it is only one point of interest in a picture filled with startling contrasts, gripping situations and spectacular effects, superimposed upon the foundation of a powerfully dramatic story.
Do you like love stories? One of the most beautiful and most sweetly thrilling of them all is a vital element in "Judgment of the Storm." And does strong emotional drama fit your taste or mood? "Judgment of the Storm" is full of it. Do you like powerful, but deliciously human realism in your shadowstage bill of fare? "Judgment of the Storm" is that! And imagine for your love hero, Lloyd Hughes, the screen's newest matinee idol, with charming Lucille Ricken, another "rising star" of screamom, opposite! Add George Hackathorn, Myrtle Stedman, and Philo McCullough as principals of the supporting cast.
Powerful stories have become associated with the "homespun" variety of production of late, because of the success of several pictures of this type, but "Judgment of the Storm" with its contrasting lavishness of ultra-metropolitan life and its spectacular snowstorm balancing the farm scenes, proves conclusively that a powerful story is a powerful story, garb it technically how you will.
