BENEFIT DANCE PROVES SOCIETY EVENT OF SEASON
THE dance at the Elks clubhouse by the Women's Press club scored another hit, socially, last evening when they gave the benefit for the soldiers at Camp Kearny. The hall was crowded and every dancer had a delightful time. The grand march was announced at 10 o'clock and was led by Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Cohen. As the couples marched down the aisles they were presented with red bon bons, and in one was the number "14," which entitled the holder to a box of candy as a prize. Miss Eleanor Quill held the lucky "14."
The popular club twins, the Misses Martha and Ida Schaeffler, in fetching Valentine costumes, passed the bon hons from pretty trimmed trays swung from their shoulders by gay ribbons.
Balloons were distributed and serpentines were passed out at a late hour, all of which gave diversion to the program of dances.
During the time the serpentines were being thrown about, Mrs. Lena Mae Noland lost her necklace of pearls, and if any of the dancers found them, Mrs. Noland would appreciate phoning 453.
