Miscellaneous SHELL KEYSTONE DISAPPOINTMENT The Shell Co.'s Kepstone well given a production test at 3810 feet did not come up to expectations and its action would indicate that it is an edge well that fixes the eastern limit of the field as far as upper sand production is concerned. The Shell Keystone bailed some heavy oil about 15 gravity, and will probably make a pumping well at best. The future of the east end of the field seems to lie in the hope of picking up a deep sand. Oil operators interested in the southwest section of the Lomita section of the field will appreciate the efforts of the Federal Drilling Co. in getting the Gerner well back on production. At 3870 the well developed water, plugged back 100 feet it was converted into a 200 barrel pumper. The Federal well now proceed with Gerner No. 2. The Julian Petroleum Corporation now has production at Torrance. On the Mueller property No. 3 was drilled to 3692 and is making between 550 and 600 barrels. Julian 1 (Splitzdoeser) at 2852 continues to light sand trough and has not gotten underway to real production as yet. No. 6 drilled by the Cannon Drilling Company failed to produce after tubing and a packer had been installed and now the well is being prepared for the pump. The failure of the Star Petroleum Co.'s B. & R. No. 1 to come into production on Carson Road would seem to place a part of this section of the field in doubt. The Star Petroleum Co. has shut its B. & R. 1 down at 3708 and will await the developments of the Baltimore Oil Co. BUENA PARK BUENA PARK, Jan. 17—(Special). J. A. The Star Petroleum Co. has shut its B. & R. 1 down at 3708 and will await the developments of the Baltimore Oil Co. Among producers of note that were completed in the Torrance-Lomita field this past week are the Beaver State Oil Co.'s No. 1 a 700 barrel well, the Cook Drilling Company's No. 2 a 600 barrel cell, Gov. P. Getty's No. 12 a 600-barrel producer, and the Universal Consolidated's 1000 barrel well at No. 4. The head line producer of the field was completed by the Dabney-Delaney Oil Co. The Dabney-Delaney well drilled to 3746 sprung a real surprise by starting off and maintaining a production of 1100 barrels.
