GIRL BECOMES
BRIDE SUNDAY
MISS EVA KRUEGER, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Krueger, of West Taft-ave., Orange, and Mr. Carl Miller, of Anaheim, were married last evening at 6 o'clock by Rev. H. G. Schnelzer at the parsonage. The young couple was accompanied by Miss Marv Bentjen and Mr. Ernest Smith, close friends of the couple, and immediately after the ceremony and pretty little wedding 'dinner in the California, the newlyweds left for a honeymoon, neglecting to give out their destination.
As Miss Krueger, the bride is well known in Anaheim where she was connected with the California Confectionery, her brother, Herman Krueger, being one of the partners. She has been a valued assistant in other confectionery shops about town, and concluded her work at Fishie's only the past week. She attended the Orange schools, grammar and high and was popular in many of the school activities.
Mr. Miller has resided in Anaheim the past year, but his parental home is in San Dimas. They will reside in Anaheim upon their return where they will be heartily welcomed in the ranks of newly-weds.

Lutheran Conference
A Lutheran conference of minister, a Sunday school worker, Miss Ida Hoffler, and laymen will be held in Grace Lutheran church beginning tomorrow. Rev. Hoart, of Los Angeles, will preside.
Rev. A. C. Schuts of Pomona, will deliver a lecture Tuesday evening and other prominent men will also have places on the programs. Miss Hoffler, who devotes unlimited energy to her work, is scheduled to tell of her accomplishments in Sunday school activities over the Southland.
The memebrs of the conference will be entertained in the various homes of the congregation, but no social affairs have been planned as the time is filled to overflowing with business matters.

Malvern Post, No. 131, of Fullerton, today installed officers following a sumptuous dinner in Odd Fellows hall. The incoming officers include J. C. B. Root, commander; Dr. J. N. Markle, vice commander; Dr. D. W. Hasson, junior vice commander; G. L. Van Eaton, officer of the day; Wm. Freeman, surgeon; L. H. Mears, chaplain; N. Matthews, outside guard.
Comrad C. H. Haskins as installing officer and O. B. Mennet acting officer of the day served for the purpose of the rites.
The Daughters of Veterans hold installation ceremonies this afternoon when Mrs. Eva Bell, department president, and her staff, were in charge of the ceremonies.

CHORAL UNION TO SING "ROBIN HOOD" JAM
The Orange County Union has required the A high school auditorium for presentation of Reginald Davenport's famous opera, "Robin on the night of January 23," carding to announcement of Hayden, business manager organization. The singer produce the opera at Sandy on the nights of January 23, and offers are being procured at Poelleria showing of the opera in city possibly on the night of January 26.
A number of prominentists of Anaheim are in the "Robin Hood", and there is preceded amount of information forthcoming production.
From a standpoint of and staging, the choral opera promise to set a new excellence in Orange county will not soon be equalled.

Girls’ Beach Party
The jolly little crowd of girls, composed of Elizabeth Parsons, as hostess, Dorothy Yungbluth, Ellen Gibbs, Josephine Cook, Juliet Evans, Louise Schneider, Garnita Lane, Peggy Page, Puritan Seitz, Florence Topham, Mary Louise Parsons, and chaperoned by Mrs. Parsons, who formed a weekend party at the Parsons cottage home returned Saturday night after one of the happiest outings of the vacation season.
The warm weather permitted a dip in the surf and marshallow roasts on the sands. Gifts were exchanged and the whole affair was symbolic of a Southland Christmas party.
Enthuses Over Climate
Miss Mildred Young, of Waupun, Wis., is a late arrival in Anaheim, and is visiting at the home of her cousins, Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Chase and family. The newcomer is delighted with the wonderful weather, and compared to the eastern winter, she can find no fault whatever. She has been taken on some poetic drives and is greatly enjoying the beauty of the ripening orange crop.
Departs for South
Mr. and Mrs. O. N. Brower and their guest, Mrs. Henry Frank of No. Dakota, motored to Burbank yesterday where they were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. H. N. White. In the afternoon they enjoyed a drive thru Topanga Canyon, Mrs. Frank left today for San Diego for a several weeks visit with relatives and friends before returning to her home in the east.
Regular Rehearsals
The Anaheim Community Church society will resume rehearsals on Tuesday beginning tomorrow at 7:30, in St. Michael’s parish hall. Recent meetings have been on Thursday nights, but it is desired to get back to the former evening of the week. It is urged that every member make mental note of this notice and all be present promptly.

Rev. Harold Smith, a missionary from Calcutta, India, will address the Wednesday evening, Jan. 16, congregation in White Temple. He has a collection of interesting curios which he will show during the lecture on his work in the chosen fields.
SOC—BOARD MEETING AND
A 6:20 dinner will be served this evening before the regular monthly Sunday school board of the White Temple is held. Everyone is invited. The meeting to follow will be held in the social hall.
Progressive Weekend
Mr. and Mrs. Welcome M. Ward motored to Long Beach Saturday, evening where they were guests at Hotel Virginia of the Fuller Brush Co. After the entertainment they went to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Glennford Griffin, where they remained overnight. With Mr. and Mrs. Griffin and their daughter Gwendolyn, the Wards returned to their home here where all had dinner together. In the late afternoon, accompanied by Mrs. H. K. Boyd, they motored to Newport Beach.
Entertain Newcomers
Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Carle entertained with a dinner party last evening for relatives. Cover were placed for Mr. and Mrs. Joe Powder, who arrived yesterday morning from Camp Point, Ill., and Mrs. M. R. Mosley, Clasr R. Huff, Virgil Mosley and Mr. and Mrs. Carle.
In the afternoon the hours were merrily passed, talking over old times. The easterna plan to remain for some time.

CHORAL UNION TO SING "ROBIN HOOD" JAN. 25
The Orange County Choral Union has acquired the Anabeim high school auditorium for the presentation of Reginald De Koen's famous opera, "Robin Hood!"
On the night of January 25, according to announcement of J. C. Mayden, business manager of the organization, The singers will produce the opera at Santa Ana on the nights of January 22 and 23, and efforts are being made to procure a theatre at Pellerton for showing of the opera in that city possibly on the night of January 26.
A number of prominent vocalists of Anabeim are in the cast of "Robin Hood", and there is an unprecedented amount of interest in the forthcoming production here.
From a standpoint of music and staging, the choral union's premier to set a mark of excellence in Orange county tug; will not soon be equaled.

Two New Babies
Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Collings 28 West Chartreuse are parents to a ten pound boy born this morning. Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Banter announce the birth of a six and daughter. Both little tots and their mothers are at the Anaheim Community hospital.
Mrs. Robert Hainlin and youthson were taken to their home yesterday after adoring relatives proudly visiting "His Majesty."

Attention of the Anaheim P.T. is again called to the meeting morning afternoon in the Broadway school kindergarten. Every member is asked to start the New year with being present at the last meeting.

MRS. NINA ROGERS, 44, PASSES AWAY
Mrs. Nina Eola Rogers, 41, for over 15 years a resident of Anaheim, passed away at her home 416 E. Addee st., after a short illness. Mrs. Rogers was born in Illinois. She is survived by her husband, B. G. Rogers and two sons, Alva and Elmer. Alva has been attending school at Berkeley and came home, to respond to a message. The mother, Mrs. S. B. Massn, and a brother, Arthur Mason, of Grayball, Wyoming, also survive.
The remains are at Back Terry and Campbell parthers where services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:30. A Christian Silence领会 will be in charge. Interment will be made at Loma Vista.
"SOCIABILITY" IS EBELL PROGRAM
The Fullerton Ebell club held an informal "get acquainted meeting," a special home talent program being given. The program included readings, Mrs. E. A. Johannessen; piano selections, Lilian Davis; Danges were given by Pauline Swett, and others by high school girls, Mrs. Fred Hezmalhach read several poems written by Mrs. R. W. Borat, a member of the Fullerton Ebell club.

High School Notes
Seniors are pleased with new rings. They are patterned along the lines of previous years. The sides are hammered gold with the inscription, "1924." On the top are the letters "A. U. H. S." in black enamel. There is a spring which turns over the insignia and on the other side the students' initials are engraved.
Varsity basketball team will play at Fullerton, Friday. The 110-pound crew plays Santa Ana tomorrow evening on the local court.
A new student, Joe Wallin, enrolled this morning. He is a freshman, and was attending Fullerton high school before transfer. Two students, Anna Schmidt and Le-Roy Horn, who formerly were students at Anaheim H. S., enrolled again this morning.
The bobbed hair craze does not seem to have abated. Many students resumed their studies this morning with long tresses, missing. There were also a number of teachers who had their tresses cut.
A doctor was called in to see a negro who was down with influenza relates Everybody's.
"What's I gwine to gib him?" asked the wife.
"Give him whiskey," the physician responded.
"How much it cost?"
When t he doctor named the price of good whisky per quart the wife remarked:
"I can bury him cheaper dan daff."

HILBERS FUNERAL TODAY
Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Hilbers, who passed away at Hooper, Nebr., were held at 2:35 this afternoon at Backs, Terry and Campbell parlors, with Rev. H. G. Schnelzer conducting. The remains were received this morning from Nebraska. Interment was made at Anaheim cemetery.
CLAES FUNERAL TODAY
Funeral services for Benedict Claes, sr., were held this morning at a.m. at St Boniface church, by Rev. P. Brown. Interment was made at Calvary cemetery, Los Angeles. The remains were at Backs, Terry and Campbell parlors until 8:45.
F. H. S BOY DIES
Walter Davis Lucy, 16, Fullerton high school student, and son of Mr. and Mrs. Horace Lucy of Placentia, died this morning from an attack of appendicitis. Decedent is survived by his parents, and two brothers and two sisters. Edward Lucy of Glendale and Howard Lucy of Placentia, and Mrs. R. H. Combs of Whittler and Mrs. R. B. Masters of Santa Ana.
Funeral services have been announced for Monday morning at 10 o'clock from the McAulay funeral parlor, Rev. Frank M. Dowling of Placentia officiating. Interment is to be in the Loma Vista cemetery. His father is a butcher at Placentia.
Funeral services for Mrs. Olive Wilson, 25, of La Habra, have been announced for 3 o'clock tomorrow afternoon from McAulay's Cremation will be private. Decedent is survived by her husband and her mother.

GREER MAY BE RELEASED TODAY
LOS ANGELES, Jan. 7.—Herace A. Greer, chauffeur for Mabel Normand, charged with shooting and seriously wounding Courtland S. Dines, wealthy Denver sportsman, as the culmination of a gay New Year's night party at Dines apartment, which was attended by Miss Normand and Edna Purviance, was expected to be freed today on $10,000 bond.
Greer has retained Attorney Clarence B. Conklin, who will represent him at his preliminary hearing next Friday. It was understood that J. B. McDonnell, a taxicab owner and former employer of Greer, will post the money for his release.
The condition of both Dines and Miss Normand, who are in the same hospital, the latter recovering from an operation, was reported today as "very fine." They are both said to be well on the way to recovery.
Will H. Hayes, "czar of the movies," arrived in Los Angeles late yesterday, but refused to discuss the case in any form. He said he was here on other business.
Mrs. Edith Burns, companion of Miss Normand, was re-questioned by the police concerning alleged discrepancies in her story of incidents which took place before the shooting. When re-questioned Mrs. Burns insisted she did not know Greer had a revolver when he started for Dines' apartment, despite the fact that Greer claims Mrs. Burns saw him with the gun and warned him to be careful.

It was a sort of New Year's meeting today that the Rotarians held. The weekly luncheon was devoted mainly to solos by members, including former President Harry D. Riley, James Hitchcock and "Doc" Barnes. Miss Irene Jones, Los Angeles soprano, also entertained.
Secretary Tom Walker, who was associated with Chairman F. H. Heck on the program committee, gave a five-minute talk in which she urged the importance of right and just judgment this year if the year was to mean all it should. For a man's own sake, said Walker, this should be his rule. Walker also urged that solid, substantial work be done in 1924.
Three visitors were present, two Rotarians from Whittier and one from Fullerton.
