POPULAR YOUNG ANAHEIM MAN TAKES BRIDE A VERY happy surprise of the holiday season was the marriage last Thursday of Vernon (Jimmy) Rumella, of Anaheim, and Mrs. Eva Spohn, of Santa Ana which occurred in the M. E. Birnage, Rev. W. A. Betts officiating. The young couple took no one into their confidence and when they game back to Anaheim as Mr. and Mrs. Rumella they became the center of attraction and complimentary wishes. Mr. Ramella is a popular young man of this locality, the son of Mrs. and Mrs. Charles Ramella. He is connected with the Taggart Motor company in Fullerton. His bride is a graduate of Santa Ana high school, class of 122, in which she was one of the most popular members. They will reside in Fullerton where the groom has a bungalow dwelling. In honor of the young couple Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Ramella entertained Sunday with a turkey dinner. A wonderfully fine menu comprised the great American bird and covers were placed for Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ramella, Mr. and Mrs. Thompson, Mrs. Josephine Lentine, Charles and Dollard Rumella and the host and hosts. The afternoon was devoted to chatting and music and anticipations of Christmas week. Leave For Hunting Trip Mr. and Mrs. P. E. Pesler entertained yesterday for a number of relatives at a delicious turkey dinner. After the dinner, the hours were passed with music and included Happy Family Gathering Mr. and Mrs. Welcome M. Ward entertained at noon yesterday with a delicious chicken dinner. The delicacies were served at noon in great abundance. Dainty cards marked places for Mrs. Julia Ward, Santa Ana; H. A. Bon Durant, Santa Ana; Robert and James Boyd and Mrs. Boyd and Mr., and Mrs. Ward. Music and conversation were enjoyed during the afternoon and a jolly time was enjoyed by all. REVEAL SECRET AS XMAS GIFT TO FRIENDS HERE THE marriage of Miss Florence Hammill and Mr. Herbert Humphrey which occurred at Riverside, Nov. 29 was not made known to Anaheim friends until yesterday. The wedding came as a complete surprise for the brides many friends did not even know of her engagement. For some time Miss Hammill has been clerked in the S. Q. R. store and for the weeks following her marriage resumed her work there. They left yesterday on a honeymoon trip, but did not reveal their destination. Upon returning they will be at home to their friends in Whittier, where Mr. Humphrey is engaged in the oil fields. Mrs. Humphrey was been in Anaheim many years coming from Toledo, Ohio, and has made her home with her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Trudeau on E. South-st. Before she went east last summer, she was eployed at Falkenstein's. She is a member of the Chat 'En Seau club, none of whom knew of the bride's plans, however, they will be on hand to congratulate the happy couple when they re- XMAS EVE. P.JOLLY AFFAIRS SIMMONS HOME THE home of Mr. and Fred Simmons, 303 H tres-st, was the scene of a gathering on Christmas day they entertained at a party in honor of the Belt" members of the Mills organization, of which Simmons is the district pervisor. The rooms were beautifully decorated with rose petals, smilax and other flowers most effective. Assisting them in receiving were M. Hoerner, of Whittier and M. Trinler, of Santa Ana; C. J. Tremblay, of Anahella tea and coffee while pep dispensed by Miss Granish of Fullerton. Mr. Cley acted as Santa Claus a gift from the well-to each guest and carried part very effectively. V. Stump of South Pasadena and J. H. Thomas, Los Angeles. Cards and conversation, interspersed with music was enjoyed during the evening hours. Progressixe Xmas Party The C. J. Dunham home was the scene of a family gathering Christmas Day when E. J. Dunham, Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Knifeo and children, Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Glanville, son Benjamin and grand daughter, Lorane, of Orenga, and Miss Lucy Plummer of Monrovia, gathered about a table laden with good things. After dinner the family went to the home of E. J. Dunham where a beautifully decorated tree was awaiting them. STANDARD BEARERS The Junior Standard Bearers will meet in the bungalow tomorrow at 7 p.m. All members are invited. Business, a lesson on Japan, games and eats will be in order during the evening. Philadelphia-st, was the mecca of a party of relatives and friends to celebrate Xmas day. The feature attraction was the turkey dinner served at noon. All enjoyed the meal to the fullest extent. Clinic Xmas Tree The happy clinic family, composed of co-workers of that institution, enjoyed a tree and treat after closing hours Monday evening when two dozen of them assembled about a beautifully trimmed tree. Miss Bowers and Miss Kiehley, of the Fullerton hospital staff, were guests of honor. The tree hore packages for all which proved to be burlesque gifts. But the treat of candy and fruits was "for-sure" and heartily enjoyed. Dr. H. A. Johnston was presented with a travelling set by the jolly "family." Fred Simmons, 303 East Char-tres-st, was the scene of a brilliant gathering on Christmas Eve when they entertained at a delightful party in honor of the "Orange Belt" members of the John P. Mills organization, of which Mr. Simmons is the district sales supervisor. The rooms were beautifully decorated with roses, polysettias, smillax and other flowers and greenery, the color scheme being most effective. Assisting the hosts in receiving were Mrs. R. A. Hoerner, of Whittier and Mrs. C. M. Trinler, of Santa Ana, Mrs. C. J. Tremblay, of Anaheim, poured tea and coffee while punch was dispensed by Miss Grace McVailh, of Rullerton. Mr. C. J. Tremblay acted as Santa Claus, presenting a gift from the well-laden tree to each guest and carried out his part very effectively. A novel feature of the entertainment was the distribution among the guests of original water-color cards hand-painted by Mr. Trinler, representing the personnel of each of the "Orange Belt" offices and conveying Christmas greetings from the Santa Ana office. During the evening an appetizing buffet luncheon was served and dancing and auction bridge were indulged in by the guests until a late hour, the host and hostess being hailed as "jolly good fellows" by the entire company. Before leaving at 6 a.m., they were served with hot chocolate and breakfast by the White Temple Epworth League. They were out for two hours and sang before eighteen homes. They passed forty minutes at Orange County hospital where they were urged to remain for even a longer time. Philadelphia-st served a delicious chicken dinner yesterday at two o'clock to the members of their family. Dinner at the parental Webb home is always a delightful affair, and the one yesterday was unusually fine.
