OPEN BIDS ON FULLERTON OUTFALL
Bids for Fullerton's part of the line serving Anaheim, Orange, and possibly other areas were opened last night by Fullerton trustees. After having been commissioned by William Record, city engineer, contracts were awarded upon his recommendation to Stroud Bros. of Bakerfield, and L. Folsom of Santa Ana. Folsom agreed to put in the 24-inch pipe line for $1.27 per lineal foot, and the 22-inch pipe line for $1.19 per lineal foot, and the Stroud Bros. agreed to put in the laterals for $1.34 per lineal foot, the manhole for $80 each, extra gravel at $5.25 per cubic yard, change house connections if any at $1 per lineal foot, and do extra work on a basal of 15 per cent. These bids on the different items named were accepted.
Other bidders were: Pernel Barnett, C. W. Schruph, C. E. Green and D. J. Miloserbich.
The city engineer was instructed to draw up plans for an ornamental lighting district on West Amerige avenue and other parts of that vicinity.
The monthly report of William French, city recorder, was received. The report showed that the SALES, INQUIRIES HERE IMPROVING Harry E. Scott, real estate, 128 E. Center street, reports a pronounced increase in sales and inquiries, especially from incoming tourists who are locating in Anaheim. The value of the Orange county pamphlet, which has been given wide circulation from his office, is being shown by many responses. The pamphlet is eagerly accepted and sent to eastern friends who in turn become interested in the county.
Mr. Scott's recent sales include a house at 809 N. Palm street to Frank Hasker, recently from Canon City, Colo. Emil Baumann, of his sales force, sold a hotel in Fullerton and a building lot on N. Pine st., which is to be immediately improved.
Mr. Scott has also just completed the purchase for subdivision of acreage at Fullerton, on West Commonwealth avenue, which he will improve with sidewalks, sewers, improved streets and gas mains and offer as a high-class residential property as soon as preliminaries are completed and accepted by the city.

The matter of paving alleys in the business districts was discussed last night by Fullerton trustees, and the board has asked the C. of C. to take up the matter and find the attitude of the business men towards the project.
It is the desire of the board to have wiring put in before paving is done, and this is said to cost considerably.
The board also told the street department that they would back them in refusing to pick up trash which has not been put into boxes.
