GERMAN COALITION NEARLY COLLAPSED By S. D. WEYER (L.N.S. Staff Correspondent) BERLIN, Oct. 30—(INS) — The grand coalition which took the German political parties five years to form, was near collapse today after a short, stormy life, replete with crises, each of which drove home the fact that the Social-Democrats and the German people’s party are two political bedfellows that cannot get along in harmony and peace. The Berlin government’s procedure toward Saxony has been such a slap in the face to the Socialists that the latter cannot take it calmly without committing political suicide. The executive committee of the Socialists will meet tomorrow when the resignation of the Socialist ministers may be demanded. However, they may hold on, resigning later, thus leaving themselves free for a military dictatorship of the Right—exactly what Bavaria and the other nationalists allied throug Germany have been driving for. President Ebert gave the chancellor authority, but added that execution first must be approved by the cabinet. Strosemann overrode the cabinet. Minister of Defense Gessler, whoo demands were defied by Bavaria, and who ordered the relchswear into Saxony, has been taken ill at a most inappropriate time. Dr. Heinze, who was appointed commissioner for Saxony by the Berlin government, issued the following exclusive statement to International News Service at Dresden: “In accordance with article 45 in the Weimar constitution, President Ebert has dismissed the Saxon government and appointed me to be state commissary for Saxony. My task is to continue this work.” LLOYD GEORGE SAD OVER LAW’S DEATH (Continued from page one) senting that constituent seven years. From 1911 to 1915 he was leader of the opposition in commons. During part of 1915 and 1926 Bonar Law served as secretary of state for the colonies. In 1926 he became chancellor of the exchequer, serving two years. In 1918 he was appointed lord of the privy seal but resigned. Bonar Law was a member of the British delegation to the Paris peace conference. From 1911 to 1921 Bonar Law was leader of the Unionist party and finally relinquished this post because of ill health. He registered valuable service as a member of the war cabinet. When illness compelled Bonar Law to retire from active politics several years ago, he went to Paris and lived quietly in an obscure hotel. He was as familiar figure among the Parisian chess enthusiasts. PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 30. — Former Premier David Lloyd George of England had the following enology for A. Bonar Law today: “I have heard the sad news with deep regret, tinged with relief that the long, severe suffering has at last come to a peaceful end. "I saw him shortly before I left England for this country, and the news certainly was not unexpected by me. During the last years of the war and the first years of peace, we worked in closer co-operation and partnership than any two ministers of the crown have ever worked before. There was hardly a day we did not meet and not a day we did not communicate with each other and interchange views. "No man could wish for more loyal, sagacious and helpful partner in times of emergency. Although we had serious political differences that severed cooperation during the last year, our friendship never broke, and charges that one of the teachers at the Bolsa school was to teach, and tilts between nents and opponents of them to annex part of the Bolsa mar school district to Grove district enlivened meeting of county supervisory developed today that they why a large faction in the trict wanted to split off merge with Garden Grove trict lay in the district roghed had been going on. The matter of joining den Grove district was contested for another week. If part Bolsa district did join, Grove would have to besible for a share of the blegations on Bolsa district amounted-it said, to an erable part of $20,000. Dr. Heinze, who was appointed commissioner for Saxony by the Berlin government, issued the following exclusive statement to International News Service at Dresden: "In accordance with article 45 in the Weimar constitution, President Ebert has dismissed the Saxon government and appointed me to be state commissary for Saxony. My main task, in conjunction with General Mueller, commander of the relchawchr, is to restore order and security in Saxony, break up the wave of terrorism and bring about normal life for the government and industries. The first necessity is to insure the foreign population. I will try to rally all factors to be loyal to the constitution. I am making an effort to form a new Saxon government upon a constitutional basis." HEALD ON STAND WASHINGTON, Oct. 30.—The Senate public lands committee, investigating the leasing of Teapot Dome oil reservoir to the Sinclair interests, today heard from K. C. Heald, chief of the oil and gas section of the U.S. Geological Survey, a contradiction of statements of other experts that the government would lose oil by seepage if wells were not drilled and operated in Teapot Dome. Former Secretary of the Interior Fall had held it wise to get the oil out for storage. The County Church LAKE SCHOOL ROW TO SUPERVISORS Charges that one of the teachers at the Bolsa school was unit teach, and tilts between propositions and opponents of the plan annex part of the Bolsa grammar school district to Garden Grove district enlisted today's meeting of county supervisors. It developed today that the reason why a large faction in the district wanted to split off and to urge with Garden Groove district lay in the district row that had been going on. Practically all of the score of persons present today at the board meeting have been sending their children to Garden Grove school. Center 10c Delivery Phone 297 Y. M. C. A. REPORTS GAIN OF 400 PCT. A year ago last May, the Anaheim Y.M.C.A. presented the need of supervision for its growing program in this community. The pledge cards used at that time called for a three-year program. Eighteen months have elapsed since then and because the three-year plan of subscription is forgotten or misunderstood by many friends, delaying the development of the work, directors decided at their last meeting to change the fiscal year, to run from Nov. 1, 1922, to Nov. 1, 1924, and to see all present subscribers and explain the change of plan; and with their consent transfer their third year pledge to the new cards. "Over 2000 people have been added to the population of Anaheim in the last eighteen months," said Chas. Eygabroad today, "and the Y.M.C.A. report for the last summer shows a gain of over 400 per cent, over the same period last year. We have just begun to lay the foundation of a splendid work. The growth of the past is but a step in the building of a program that, in a few years, will demand, as it did in Santa Ana, an association building fitting for a community such as Anaheim." By providing a budget of $6000 Nov. 6th to 9th, we are insuring the development of an Association program commensurate with our city's growth. PROBE RY.
