TROJANS DEFEATED BUT NOT BEATEN
LOS ANGELES, Oct. 25—The Trojan varsity is back. Although they were defeated by the Washington Huskies last Saturday at Seattle the Trojans are anything but downhearted. In fact if anything they are lightin' mad and determined more than ever to clean up on Stanford and California.
However, at present Henderson's lads are thinging only of Andy Kerr's Stanford Cardinals. Their one aim in life at this time is to beat Stanford. To them and the whole U. S. student body the Washington game is past—something to be mentioned in the same breath as anything antideluvian.
The Trojans felt pretty low when their train first pulled into Los Angeles last Tuesday morning, but they saw 2500 students at the station to greet them. Henderson and every member of the varsity knew that the student body was behind them heart and soul. A big rally was held at the station and before the day was over the Trojans had back their old pepper.
In practice this week the players showed all kinds of fight and made left miserable for the freshmen in the serifmages. If the Trojans don't make good and come back strong against Stanford at Palo Alto Saturday it will surprise everyone who has watched them work out. Henderson has his men in a fighting mood and the Cards will think a bunch of wild men have turned loose-Saturday. And there will be no bombs popping during the game as there was in the Seattle stadium.

CASABA SHOOTERS DEFEAT NORWALK
Again displaying their superior playing, Coach Irène Jacques' crew of casalia shooters defeated the Norwalk squad 11 to 5, on the local court last evening.
In the lightweight game the Norwalk girls were downed 13 to 12.
From the playing, the girl have done in the pitch the coach is now confident that the way is clear once more to capture the Sc. Calif. title, including the county title.
The first sound has developed wonderful team work since the last game and their quick passing, once the ball was in their territory, won the game. The guards played an excellent game, only allowing the visitors to grab two field goals. Miss Lyda Mohr was the outstanding player of the game.

In practice this week the players showed all kinds of fight and made left miserable for the freshmen in the kirkmager. Henderson has his men in a fighting mood and the Cards will think a bunch of wild men have turned loose Saturday. And there will be no bombs popping during the game as there was in the Seattle stadium.
A large flock of Trojan fans will journey to Palo Alto Saturday to watch the Univ. of Sou. Calif. eleven come back.
Conch Leo Calland's unscored upon and undefeated University of Southern California freshmen will have their first "big game" Saturday when they face "Husky" Hunt's huskier Stanford pegreeners in the Los Angeles Coliseum. The Card babes have made an impressive showing in their practice games and an evenly matched contest is looked for.
The Trojan frosh will have every man available for play Saturday with the exception of Gordon Britle, regular guard and former Bakersfield star, who is suffering with a bad elbow. Manuel Loraneta, Willie Lewis and "Missouri" Stever, who were on the injured list last week when the fresh mothered Modesto Junior College, 68 to 0 are in good condition again and the former two are expected to start.
Dick Hyland, star Card halfback who has been ineligible for the past three weeks, was again made eligible last week and with him in the lineup the tanford chances are considerably stronger. The Stanford frash will outweigh the U.S.C. yearlings but this is not expected to be much of an advantage for the Palo Altoans for the Trojan babes have played against heavier elevens this year and not experienced much difficulty. Lee Calland is experiencing worry trying to pick out a lineup to start against the Cardinal youngsters, but the following eleven men are expected to be on the field for the Trojans at the opening kick-off Saturday. Lewis and Badgro, ends; Friend and Behrendt, tackles; Cox and Winfield, guards; Cravath, center; Wilcox, quarterback, Taylor and Lataneta, fullbacks, and Haiser, full-back.

CHILD PALLS IN FRONT OF DISC
Mabel Wicker, 6, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Wicker, of Cypress, is recovering from injuries received when she fell from the seat of the disc, on which she was riding, and which was attached to the tractor driven by her father.
That she fell in such a manue, as to cut only her leg is considered almost a miracle. The wound is a triangle cut, deep, and it bled profusely. She is confined to her home, but will be back in school next week, provided no complications arise.
