MUSIC TRADES ASSN. HAS BIGGEST MEET The Orange county branch of the Music Trades association of So. Calif., Monday night at the Cherry Blossom held the largest meeting in its history. It was a dinner gathering, and various important matters came up for discussion. President Bob Schaefer of Santa Ana presided, except at the close, when Schaefer left and Otto Hammel of Anaheim took the chair. The Anaheim Music Co. and Weber's Book Store were taken in as members, and it was voted on Hammel's motion to make eligible all companies handling radio sets that have been handling musical instruments. At a meeting in Los Angeles tomorrow morning the question will be finally threshed out. It was shown that the saving on insurance alone more than covers the dues asked. Co-operation is the keynote of the association's policy. The minutes were read of last month's big banquet in Long Beach. In the Long Screech, the organ on that occasion, Hammel was among those who received digs. It is likely that the Cherry Blossom will be selected again for the monthly gathering, when Anaheim's tarn come again. The next meeting will be held at Santa Ana. 'DAVIDS' SHOOT AT FARMER'S PUMPKINS ST. CLAIRSVILLE, O., Oct. 17.—That local youngsters are "just as good shots as was David," hero of Biblical days, is the claim made by Henry Richardson, who appealed to Mayor H. M. He said nearly every one of the pumpkins in his garden were punctured, and he fearen, ruined. 4200 HOMELESS IN OKLAHOMA CITY, Oct. 17.—Quickly recovering from the disastrous blow dealt by the flood this city today had in smooth operation a relief organization that was methodically carrying 4,309 homeless persons and adopting measures to assure sanitation and health to those living in the submerged district. Damage that had prevented industrial activity was being repaired. The small towns of Jones and Spencer, near here, already cut off, were seriously menaced by high water this morning. Yet the flood was receding rapidly. It was expected that the North and South Canadian Rivers would resume normal aspect within two or three days. Extraordinary efforts were being made to supply milk to the city, a shortage being threatened not only by inability of dairymen to reach town, but by huge losses in cows and equipment suffered on the farms. The railroad situation was improving, a number of trains making their way out of the city last night and this morning, proceeding by wide detours to their destinations. Enormous losses have been sustained by the railroad lines, both steam and electric. A rough estimate of Oklahoma City's damage is set at $2,000,000.
