Miscellaneous TRIED FOR MURDER OF TWO YEARS AGO BOZEMAN, Mont. Oct. 13—With the largest venire ever called for a jury panel in Gallatin county on hand, the trial of Seth Orrin Danner charged with murder, will start here Monday, Oct. 15. County Judge B. B. Law has ordered 120 men to report, from which a jury will be selected. Danner is charged with the murder of John and Florence Sprouse on Nov. 14, 1920. It is expected that Iva Danner, divorced wife of the defendant, will be the state's chief witness. Bozeman authorities were startled last spring when Mrs. Danner is alleged to have confessed to County Attorney E. A. Peterson that her husband murdered Mr. and Mrs. Sprouse nearly three years ago, and buried their bodies in a shallow grave in Central park, about 100 feet off the Yellowstone trail. Investigation by authorities disclosed the two decomposed bodies, and the arrest of Danner followed. Following her alleged confession, Mrs. Danner was granted an absolute divorce in the courts here. Danner has stoutly maintained his innocence since his arrest. BOYS TAKE TRIP ON MISSISSIPPI KANSAS CITY, Oct. 13—Experiences on the Mississippi river rivaling those of Mark Twain's famous characters, Huckleberry Finn and his pal, Tom Sawyer, were told by four local youths who have returned from a six weeks' trip on the Missouri and Mississippi rivers in 18-foot canoes. Paddling against dangerous currents, maneuvering to avoid destructive snags, riding waves of the river freighters and sleeping to the music of the swirling waters rushing. Experiences on the Mississippi river rivaling those of Mark Twain's famous characters, Huckleberry Finn and his pal Tom Sawyer, were told by four local youths who have returned from a six weeks' trip on the Missouri and Mississippi rivers in 18-foot canoes. Paddling against dangerous currents, maneuvering to avoid destructive snags, riding waves of the river freighters and sleeping to the music of the swirling waters rushing against countless hidden snags were part of their adventures. The boys, Edward Callender, Charles Orr, Byron Howard and Ellis Atteberry, all students of Missouri University, said their premier thrills were furnished by a storm on the Mississippi in which the two canoes became separated and were apart four days. HOMERIC TO BURN OIL LONDON, Oct. 13. — The White Star liner Homerie, the only one of the largest transatlantic liners not running on oil fuel, will, after another round trip across the Atlantic be laid up and converted into an oil-fuel burner. RECOVERS FROM CROUP "My boy had a very bad attack of croup. Tried everything but nothing did him much good. Then used Foley's Honey and Tar and he not only recovered quickly but he has had no trouble since," writes Mrs. William Sims, Burlington, Wyo. Joughs, colds and croup quickly relieved with Foley's Honey and Tar, the largest selling cough medicine in the World. Free from opiates—ingredients printed on the wrapper. FATHER ADMIRES SON'S INDEPENDENCE LONDON, Oct. 13. — Young Oliver Baldwin, son of Britain's prime minister, would be a trial to almost any other father but Stanley Baldwin. Young Baldwin is a Laborite, progressive and a lover of adventure, and tells the world his views while his father treads the path of stalid old British conservatism. The elder Baldwin is not greatly worried by his young son's views; in fact he seems to rather good-naturedly admire the young man's independence. "On the whole," the prime minister recently said to a friend, "I think the boy got a hose, press than I do." He declined, however, to discuss his son's political views, except to say that it would be time enough to do that when they led from domestic discussion very much farther along the road to civil war. The prime minister seems to be a wise father, but around the clubs where old die-hards gather before the fire there are serious discussions about "this young Baldwin chap" and many an old-timer who still thinks in Victorian terms is willing to predict that the boy will never grow up to be the man his father is.
