"OLD HOMESTEAD"
AT UNITED THEATER
The farmyards of California were combed for animals to appear in the rural scenes of "The Old Homestead," the greatest of all American emotion dramas, starring Theodore Roberts, playing at the United theater tonight and tomorrow.
Puppies, grown dogs, pigs, goats, horses, cows, chickens, ducks, cats, turkeys, kittens—almost every variety of the barnyard familiars, will be seen in the realistic scenes depicting the village of Ganzey, N. H., and the homestead itself.
The role of Uncle Josh is played by Theodore Roberts with his usual skill. George Fawcett, another great character actor, is Holbrook, while T. Roy Barnes is the easy-going tramp, Happy Jack. Fritzi Ridgeway plays Ann, and Reuben is portrayed by Harrison Ford, while other characters are played by well-known actors.
A village of 40 or more houses was constructed for the picture at the Lasky ranch; this was partially demolished by a great windstorm, which forms the thrilling climax to the picture.
AGUINALDO BEING WARMLY RECEIVED
MANILA, Sept. 21.—Gen. Emiliano Aguinaldo, touring southern Luzon, is being received with great enthusiasm, according to advices received here today.
At Naga the revolutionary veterans met him with a procession, at the head of which was carried the only revolutionary flag preserved from the insurrectionary days.
Responding to the ovations tendered him, Aguinaldo expressed satisfaction in seeing so many younger men rendering tribute to the men who "yesterday fought for their fatherland."
Senators Alegre and Vera, both followers of Manue Quezon, are accompanying Aguinaldo.

They were on their way to Anaheim to consult their physician.
Mr. and Mrs. George Kellogg hospitably entertained a large number of friends at the Woman's clubhouse on Saturday evening. The affair was in honor of their son, Bryant Carr, and his fiancee, Miss Frances Antuniz of Los Angeles, whose wedding will be an event of Sept. 29. The club rooms were prettily decorated and the hours passed quickly with music and dancing. Both Mr. and Mrs. Kellogg and the honored guests were very much surprised when the guests present presented the young couple with an article for the new home. At a late hour delicious refreshments were served. Mr. Carr formerly resided here, and has the best wishes of a large circle of friends for his future happiness.

They are very enthusiastic over the beauties of the Red Rock canyon, which they visited. They also visited many mining towns and saw, at Randburg, one of the largest silver mines in the world. At Palmdale, which is a pretty town in a forest of yucca palms, they found a restful spot after their long trip.
