FATHER OF SEVEN LEAPS TO DEATH LOS ANGELES, Sept. 18. Shouting a farewell to other passengers, Sidney L. Culver, 47, of San Pedro, leaped from the rail of a ferryboat into Los Angeles harbor shortly before midnight and was drowned. Police, who believe the man deliberately committed suicide, searched for the body today, which is believed to have been washed to sea by the outgoing tide. Culver is survived by a wife and seven children. His wife could give no reason for her husband's action.
