FILM DIRECT FROM WEEK AT GRAUMAN'S "Shadows of the North," a vivid drama of the great Northwest, direct from a week's run at Grauman Million Dollar Theater, Los Angeles, will be the attraction at the United Theatre three days starting Sunday. It is a red-blooded romance of the Canadian Northwest gold trails that give Big Bill Desmond one of the most gripping roles of his career. William Desmond is surrounded by a cast of well known stars. Virginia Browne Fairs, one of the most skillful of the younger emotional actresses of the screen, has the leading feminine role. Rin-Tin-Tin, the famous police dog, appears also in a part that sure does credit to his well known ability. It is a story of placer mining and claim jumping in Northwestern Canada and much of the glory of the beautiful timbered hills of that region is reflected in the picture. The exterior scenes were taken in the Feather River country in No. Cal., which is noted for its scenic beauty. The river itself has an important place in the story and it furnishes one of the biggest thrills. The hero, with the daughter of the leader of the claim jumpers as his prisoner, runs the rapids in a canoe and is shot. It was a daring stunt and all of its action was caught by the camo its acton was caught by the cameraman. See this crashing picturesque drama of the gold trails and the mining camps—big, colorful, spectacular, with a throbbing love story, a remarkable cast! The scenery will enthrall you—the romance will linger in your memory! In conjunction with the feature picture we will also show Buster SMART LITTLE HAT OF GRAY TAFFETA FOR COLLEGE WEAR Taffeta hats are always popular because of their adaptability to many needs.
