TWO PARTIES FOR
TWO MEN ON
TWO BIRTHDAYS
J. L. SCHUMACHER, Sr., had a birthday yesterday and all the Schumacher relatives were invited to the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Schumacher, ostensibly for dinner at their home. Friday had been the anniversary of Mr. J. E., so the guests thought this was a big double celebration at the home. However, the plans had been arranged for a little surprise on the guests as well as the honoree, and all were invited to follow the auto of the host and hostess to something pretty good. They soon found themselves at Orange-co park where a delicious picnic dinner was served.
Two birthday cakes graced the table, one for Mr. Schumacher, Sr., and one for his son. A delicious lunchcon was served under the big trees and the afternoon paused in the pleasures of the pretty recreation spot.
Friday evening, Mrs. Schumacher gave a dinner for her husband's family and her own at their home, also in celebration of his birthday anniversary. The guests at both affairs were members of the Schumacher and Weber families.

The quarter-century bridal pair have but recently moved into a beautiful new home on Palmyra-ave and South Lemon-st and the affair was somewhat in the nature of a house warming as well.
The banquet was served at four long tables in the basement, which is a model of convenience and cleanliness, and the guests numbering almost 100, were seated at one time. The table of honor bore a huge wedding cake.
Mr. and Mrs. Dierker received many lovely gifts of silverware.

Happy in New Home
The third club home of Women's organizations in Orange County is now completed and was used for the first time when the Garden Grove Civics club held their regular meeting Friday afternoon. The pretty club home, built at a cost of $6,000, is located just west of the postoffice and contains an auditorium with a seating capacity of 500 persons, kitchen, stage, dressing rooms, and is nicely furnished throughout.
Although the meeting yesterday will go into club history as the first, the formal opening will not occur until the regular September meeting date, when elaborate ceremonies will be held. Representatives of all clubs in the county, of the several business men's clubs, and of the Federated clubs will be present. The afternoon will be devoted to dedicatory exercises and the evening to a musical program.
Officers of this active club are Mrs. J. V. Kelsey, president; Mrs. C. V. Henry, vice president; Mrs. James Hayhurst, secretary and Mrs. Mabel Lewis, treasurer; Mrs. A. D. Hoehhelis corresponding secretary. The directors are the Messdam C. C. Viott, W. Senkrekengoat, E. E. Chaffee, J. A. Knapp, E. Holtz and the president, Mrs. Kelsey.
Funds for the pretty building were raised by the club women, the Garden Grove Chamber of Commerce, the Lions clubs of the county, who staged an entertainment, and thru private subscriptions. Plans are in the making for a street fair and carnival which will be staged by the Aberlean Legion, the C. C. of C., the Boy Scouts, the Lions club, Parent-Teacher Ass'n and other Garden Grove organizations. Other features for raising funds are under consideration and the club hopes to have their home clear of indebtedness in a short time.
The other two clubs in the county owning their homes are the Yorba Linda and the Costa Mesa Women's clubs.

"DIVORCE QUESTION"
PROVES GREAT HIT
The "Divorce Question" at the United Theatre last night proved to be the wonderful play that the press reports had guaranteed. And the Siegel Company also proved equally at home in the more serious branch of their profession. "The Divorce Question" is a decided change from the other bills they have presented in Anaheim.
The play from a dramatic standpoint is interesting to a degree, and entertaining every moment. There are many touches of comedy to relieve the bigger moments. Certainly no one can be harmed by witnessing this vivid picture of the evil that can come from thousands of similar cases, through the system of divorce, and the heartaches that are so often almost certain, when children are involved.
The "dope question" is also presented in a vivid manner. How any one could ever be induced to even dream of touching drugs after witnessing Mr. Siegel's masterful portrayal of the dope fiend would be hard to realize, and the picture he depicts is in no way exaggerated, altho it is grewsome.
"The Divorce Question" will be presented again tonight and tomorrow evening.
THE PHOTOPLAY
Buddy Messinger, one of the most talented of the younger players of the cinema world, and Hayden Stevenson, recalled as the "wise-cracking" manager of the "Leather Pushers" series, are two of the prominent players in "Trifling With Honor," the Universal-Jewel production which is now playing at the United Theatre.

SCOUTS HONOR PRESIDENT'S MEMORY
A beautiful tribute was paid to the memory of late President Harding by a Boy Scout troop in Orange whose leader is Walter Choi, 18 year old Korean boy who operates a flower stand there and who made the floral piece.
A huge flag of red, white and blue flowers was placed on a standard under one of the palms in Plaza square. In the center was a picture of President Harding. The entire floral flag measuring three feet across, and composed of 350 red and white carnations and corn flowers, was lighted at night by a spotlight and overhung with flags. The emblem will remain there as long as the flowers survive.

John A. Delliplaine, 22, of Los Angeles, and Miss Maria H. Collins, 22, of Bakersfield, were married late Saturday in the office of G. B. Brown, Justice of the peace. The young couple went on their way rejoicing, after instructing Judge Brown to send them to the Divorce Question will be presented again tonight and tomorrow evening.
Buddy was termed by a noted American army officer during a recent visit to Universal City as the ideal type-of American boy, the type that grows into a sturdy young manhood which in times of national stress makes the American soldier, whose individual initiative and courage is internationally famous. As the mischievous youngster in "The Flirt" and the youthful society dandy in "The Abysmal Brute," he nearly stole the stellar honors away from the principals.
