CARRIES 3 INJURED TO L. B. HOSPITAL Arriving on the scene of a terrible crash last night about 8:30 as he was on route to the Studebaker picnic, Charles A. Hammons, salesman for the Riley agency in Fullerton gave unlimited assistance in removing the victims to the hospital and in giving other comfort. At the point where the Seal Beach and Anaheim Landing boulevards diverge, a five passenger Oakland just in front of Mr. Hammons containing two young girls and three boys, all from Long Beach, struck a telephone pole with terrific force, breaking it squarely off, and causing horrible injuries to three of the party. Mr. Hammons picked up one boy and two girls and rushed them to Seal Beach, hoping to get emergency treatment, but failed. Accompanied by a traffic officer a race was made to Seaside hospital. Long Beach, where the three were treated, little hope was held for the recovery of one of the young ladies, whose bones protruded through the flesh and who suffered from severe cuts. The others were bruised and cut, but after emergency treatment they were returned to their homes. Mr. Hammons did not learn the names of the young people in the excitement. G. AND L.
