WOMAN CUT WHEN CAR STRIKES POST
In an accident last night at-Union-ave, on No. Spadra-rd. Fullerton, a woman was hurt, an ornamental light post knocked down, the light globe removed and a Studebaker car...dly wrecked.
The car was owned by B. O. Moyer of Pleasanton and was driven by his daughter-in-law, Mrs. Moyer. They were on their way to visit friends in Santa Ana. Mrs. Moyer turned to one side to avoid striking a truck and apparently lost control of the car, ramming into the ornamental light post.
The windshield was broken and a piece of glass struck her on the forehead, cutting a painful, but not a serious gash. She was taken to the residence of Dr. Steen, where her wound was dressed. Mr. Moyer was shaken up, but received no serious injuries.
The car was brot to the Harry D. Riley garage in Anaheim, and this morning towed to the Studebaker garage in Santa Ana.

MOTOR CAR TAKES HEAVY BIRD TOLL
SUPERIOR WIS., July 28. — The motor car is taking a terrible toll in bird and animal life in the wilds of Wisconsin. It has been reported by fish and game protective agencies of the state. It is estimated that each summer thousands of birds and small animals are killed by ruthless driver.
Along any and every highway of the state, it is claimed, may be found any day the evidences of the toll in wild life being taken by motor cars.
Lining the roads are hundreds of bodies of little birds, chipmunks, squirrels and rabbits.
Game birds killed by motorists are few, the reports state, largely because the birds are hunted and do not look upon men as friends, as do their smaller feathered brethren.
Many of the birds killed by motor cars may be spared that fate, it is claimed, if drivers sound their warning signal rather than purposely to try to run over the birds rabbits or squirrels met along the roads.
KILL 100 AFRICANS
LONDON, July 28. — One hundred African rebels were killed in battle with Italian troops in Cyrenaia, said a Central News dispatch from Rome today. The Italians lost eight in killed and 14 wounded.

THREATENS POWER CO
SEATTLE July 28. — Forest fires in the Gascade mountains for a time threatened to destroy the Puget Sound Power and Light Company's new 110,000 volt line being constructed to Wenatchee, but was extinguished before much damage had been done. This is the first fire of importance to break out this season.
In Japan a process has been developed for making non-resting copper articles by casting the metal at a high temperature under hot water.
