ANOTHER BIG WEEK AT SANTA FE SPGS.
(Continued From Page One)
the intention of the Luneta to proceed cautiously with the drill and explore ahead and get a line on the most important discovery that has been made in the southeast section.
The Kirkpatrick Brothers have their first Springs field oil well, Kirkpatrick Brothers Syndicate No. 3 completed at 4681 started off at a 1000 barrels, but judging from the present action of the well it will no doubt increase this output to four or possibly five thousand barrels.
Interest in the Standard Oil Company's field operations at Santa Fe Springs seems to center around the famous Brownrigg-Keller No. 2. This well is not only the deepest test well drilling at Santa Fe Springs but is also the deepest test well now drilling anywhere in the California field, Brownrigg-Keller No. 2, is close to 5800 feet and is not allowing any more indication of an oil well than when drilling first began. However more indications of an oil are in the fact that the Standard Oil Company does not do things by halves and the well will be carried on as far as drilling facilities allow.
The Petroleum Midway put a rather interesting well on production with the completion of the Patterson well at the depth of 4951 feet. The Patterson well now a 1000 producer marks success for the southeast section of the field and gives the operators of this somewhat doubtful region a lot of new hope.
The Weisel property of the Standard Oil Company is proving out to be one of the great oil properties of the Springs field. A few days ago the Standard Oil Company completed Weisel No. 2 at 4641 feet and the result was a 4300 barrel well producing -35 gravity oil. Weisel No. 1 a completion of a month ago is still maintaining its place among the big wells of the field. Ralph Winger field superintendent for the Standard Oil Company has made in one year a most enviable record for himself and his company. In Winger the Standard Oil Company has an executive who knows the oil bus-

Ralph Winger field superintendent for the Standard Oil Company has made in one year a most enviable record for himself and his company. In Winger the Standard Oil Company has an executive who knows the oil business from the ground down, and his remarkable success in handling some of the most difficult producers and drilling problems has been nothing short of marvelous.
Something definite will be known about the West Extension of the Santa Fe Springs field before the end of the week. The M. and H. Oil Company is scheduled to drill out the cement plug at 8800 feet and see if the Bell sand extends to that portion of the field. At 3803 the M. and H. Oil Company claim to have found the Bell sand, and examinations made of the core samples taken at this point seem to verify the contention.
Drilling on the southwest extension of the Springs field by the Western Extension Oil Company is making splendid progress and a line will be gotten on this section of the field before long. The Western Extension Oil Company drilling a test well on the Quill property is close to 2000 feet and already some very favorable surface showings have been encountered.
