CONFER TONIGHT
OVER BRITISH NOTE
(By International News Service)
LONDON, July 18.—Lord Curzon,
British foreign secretary, is expected
to communicate the contents of the
British reparations note to the German ambassador, Herr Sthammer,
when they confer this evening.
A cabinet meeting was to have been held this afternoon to consider the reparations issue, but it was postponed until tomorrow. The postponement gave rise to belief that new representations were being made to France by England.
The British note has been completed. It is comparatively short, outlining the British proposals with utmost brevity. It proposes an international commission to fix the sum of German indemnity, but proposes additional safeguards for France to guarantee German payments.

Frank L. Thomas is Bradford's attorney.

SUGGESTIONS
Cleaning Silver—Keeping the alverware bright and shining is one
problem that all housewives must
face. It will tarnish. The sulphur
that combines with the silver to
make the tarnish (silver sulphide)
is found in the air where coal or
coal gas is used. It is also found in
foods such as eggs and in wool and
rubber. It is not soluble in water so
washing is of no avail. The simplest method is to clean by the electrolytic method. Use one tablespoon of washing soda to a quart of
boiling water in an earthen, glass
or enamel dish with a sine or alumnium plate. You can clean it in an
aluminum pan but the stain is then
transferred to the pan which is also
attacked by the alkali. Aluminum
plates can be had for this purpose.
If the silverware has but a slight
tarnish the cleaning is instantaneous,
but if badly tarnished it will take a few minutes to remove the stain.
Rub with a soft cloth or chamois to polish.
