NAME 2 MEN WHO DISPOSED OF GUNS
LOS ANGELES, July 14.—Evidence pointing to a "murder pact" the details of which were carefully arranged in advance, was declared to have been uncovered today by the police in their new investigation of the murder last August of Fred Oesterreich, wealthy Milwaukee manufacturer, whose pretty young widow, Mrs. Walberga Oesterreich, is held in the county jail on a murder charge awaiting her preliminary hearing on July 25 for slaying her husband.
J. E. Farther, Christian scientist practitioner and Ray Klum, motion picture producer and actor are the men whom Mrs. Oesterreich is alleged to have given revolvers with the request that they dispose of them.
They told the officers they consented to dispose of the revolvers which were of the same caliber used to kill Oesterreich, because of their friendship for Mrs. Oesterreich in whose innocence they believed.
ANNALS OF THE WORLD WAR Philadelphia Ledger
Colonel House has promised to give Yale presently his collection of papers dealing with the war and its aftermath. The papers for a specified term of years are to be accessible only to "qualified students". These documents include personal memoranda of a confidential nature which may be expected to shed light on events which still remain in the twilight zone, or perhaps in utter obscurity, in the lengthening historical perspective.

These documents include personal memoranda of a confident nature which may be expected to shed light on events which still remain in the twilight zone, or perhaps in utter obscurity, in the lengthening historical perspective.
Despite the multitude of books about the war that have appeared, the last word is not written, nor will it be, till enough years have passed to give the historian the balance and proportion which come with the subsidence of the floodtide of passion. In the meantime, the material is piling mountain high, and there will be a difficult task of selection preliminary to assimilation.
When Carlyle came to write his flaming history of the French Revolution he was appalled by the enormous amount of material in the British Museum. What was worse than the quantitative problem was the absence of proper classification and indexing. Fortunately, in our time the applied science of the librarian assists the trained scholar in his research. For the recent war the books and manuscripts numerous as they are, will be more accessible to those who know how to use them than were the legible records of any of the wars that afflicted humanity before the Armageddon set the world afire.
In too many homes doggish barking is substituted for childish laughter.
Aches and pains that come in the night usually mean that the blood isn't right.
Clean ice cream, prepared from wholesome ingredients, is one of our most important foods.
