COUPLE MARRIED
IN RIVERSIDE
LAST SATURDAY
SOCC—COUPLE MARRIED
AFTER almost a week of married life friends of Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Barfoot are hearing the news of the happy event. Miss Thora Elizabeth Baxter, affectionately known among her intimates as "Teddy," and Mr. Vincent Barfoot slipped over to Riverside Saturday where they were married in the Presbyterian church at 2 o'clock the same afternoon, Rev. Bennett, pastor, officiating.
After a short say in the Mission Inn city they left on a motor honeymoon and will be at home in Anaheim after July 15.
The young couple was unattended, and, although offered an elaborate wedding by the bride's parents, preferred the simpler rites. The bride wore a beige duveta suit with picture hat and accessories. She carried a shower of lilies of the valley and sweet peas. She is a graduate of A. U. H. S., class of '20.
Mr. Barfoot, the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Barfoot, also attended the local high school. The Barfoot family has resided in Anaheim the past eight years and in California for ten years. He recently bought an eight-acre orange ranch on North East-st, and has had the house in the hands of carpenters for several weeks. It is now almost ready for occupancy.
Mr. and Mrs. Barfoot have received many beautiful gifts from their friends and several social affairs are being planned for their return.
Community Players Party
The Anaheim Community Players are planning a very nice social affair for Monday afternoon, July 9, when a benefit card party will be held in the Guild hall. Each member of the organization is expected to invite guests enough to fill from one to several tables. Prizes will be awarded for highest scores and refreshments of ice cream and cake served after the games.
Committees are in charge of Mrs. B. H. Sidnam, refreshment; Mrs. Blaine Gibson, tables and Mrs. W. L. Spates, tallys and prizes. Several members of the Pullerton Community Players are expected and it is hoped there will be a large crowd present. Pursue these particulars may be obtained from Miss Kuth Camberlain.

They stopped in the Grand Canyon en route, and have been enjoying side trips since their arrival.
In company with the W. W. Whites all passed, the Fourth at Laguna Beach, where plenic dinner on the sands was an added pleasure. The ladies will remain here with the Eckers, Mrs. Ecker being a daughter of Mrs. Carter, for about six weeks, and make the return journey via the northern route.

Interesting R. N. Meeting
The Royal Neighbors of America will initiate a very large class at the regular meeting next Monday afternoon, and it is the desire of the order that every officer be there without talk. All candidates are also expected to be present to go in with the class.
As the contest, for members between the local order and the Santa Ana Neighbors is closed, a committee from the latter lodge will be present at the Monday meeting to ascertain who is the loser in the contest. It is a rule of the contest that the losers pay with a banquet, and that the winners be awarded with a banner presented by the district deputy, Mrs. Josephine Hedgda.
Much interest is felt in the outcome of the contest.

ALICE LAKE SCORES
IN DUAL PORTRAYAL
In "The Infamous Miss Revell" which today started a two day run at the United Theatre, Alice Lake does some of the best character work of her screen career in portraying a dual role. This youthful Metro star gave the romantic love story a dramatic presentation, but so skillfully did she handle her part that never once will the spectators receive the impression that it is being overplayed.
Miss Lake appears as Julien and Paula Revel, twin sisters, upon whom has fallen the burden of taking care of their four little brothers and sisters. In order to replenish the family exchequer Julian becomes nurse to a wealthy old man who leaves her a fortune. His heirs angered at being cut off with a small inheritance plan revenge and finally succeed but in a way that keeps the audience guessing until the last scene.
Cullen Landis as a vengeful heir was thoroughly convincing, while Stanley Goethals, Francis Carpenter, May Garaci and Geraldine Condon as the Reyell children gave excellent juvenile portrayals. Others in the cast were Jackie Saunders, Lydia Knott, Herbert Standing and Alfred Hollingaworth. The picture is a Dallas M. Fitzgerald production adapted by Arthur J. Zellner from W. Carey Wonderly's story. It was photographed by R. H. Klaffki, Joseph Calder was art director.
