The splendid producer was finished at 4900 feet and is making a 26 gravity oil. The Union oil company's Coneland No. 15 is making a great showing. Completed last week at 5083 the well started off at 1200 bbls. This week the well has increased its production to 1500 barrels and appears that it will make further and substantial increases. Brooks No. 3 a recent Union oil completion is holding steadily at 2000 barrels. Montebello interest centers on H.L. Whiston's Bicknell well. The Bicknell well if successful will open up a new field for Montebello and start a tremendous amount of new development in the old field. AT THE HOTEL PLEASANT Clarence Monroe, Long Beach: Montebello interest centers on H. L. Whiston's Bicknell well. The Bicknell well is successful will open up a new field for Montebello and start a tremendous amount of new development in the old field. Whiston is in few weeks of drilling has reached a depth of almost 3000 feet. It is understood that the tallest oil derrick in the world and the Reed Roller bit recognized as the greatest cutting tool in hard formation yet devised by man is the combination responsible for the great speed attainment. With the 165 foot derrick six stands of drill pipe are pulled at once instead of three, thus cutting the time of running in and coming out of the hole down a third. Old Richfield perked up and handed the oil industry at 250 barrel well last week. The completion was made by the Chanslor-Canfield Oil Company on the Bradford property, Bradford Bros. No. 2 was completed at 3548. The Standard Oil company is making preparations to abandon one of the deepest wells drilled in the north section of the Richfield district. The producer was completed by the Chanslor-Canfield on the discovery property, Del Amo No. 6 completed at 3548 is the well and it is flowing. In the Bandini District the Fullerton Oil Co.'s Brickyard well has approached the 5100 foot mark and aside from a few slight showings the wild cat well has shown nothing promising. Starch a heat producing food, should be less used in summer. String beans might well be substituted for the creamed lima beans and stewed apple, spiced, for the rice croquettes.
