GRANTED PIPE-LINE PERMIT 3-40-year franchise to the Shell Co. of California to lay and operate a pipe line system in the vicinity of Bellevue, Anaheim-st, Los Alamos-bldd, Saratoga-st and Cerritos-st near the county Pipe has been granted by the board of supervisors. The board decided to begin enlistment, domain proceedings to acquire the rights-of-way necessary for the canal highway. It decided to appropriate $5,000 out of the found of $15,000 for flood control and water conservation to be made up by Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino Counties equally, and the Tri-Counties Reforestation Committee which urged the action, will be so informed. Bemis, 62, prominent retired rancher of Yorba Linda.The Bemis household, Mrs. Lillie Miller,sister and housekeeper, and Arthur Bernis, son, were eating their evening meal when Mr. Bernis fell from his chair.He passed away before medical attention could be secured.The affording physician gave the cause as apoplexy.
